How does the fight go?
The Imps Overpower Them
Pretty much as soon as the fight began, the two girls realized they had made a serious miscalculation.
Imps were usually quite weak on their own. A few well placed strike or a simple sacred flame was enough to fell one. In their prime, Shadowheart or Lae'zel could dispatch with all four of them single-handedly.
However, they were not in their prime. Whatever the illithids had done to them, it had wrecked havoc on their skills. Shadowheart was reduced to only her weakest spells, and Lae'zel had the combat knowledge of a mere recruit. On top of that, a mental haze still hung over them, slowing their reflexes and clouding their judgement.
Lae'zel lost her sword to a scratch to the hand, while a claw to the back of the leg forced her to her knees. Shadowheart stayed upright a bit longer, flinging sacred flames left and right. However, they seemed to have absolutely no effect on the imps, who soon tackled her to the ground.
It was over.
The imps had won!
