Ms. Pershing

Your female principal, Ms. Pershing, stares at Nebula's phone with an unreadable expression. Her thumb scrolls the page while she reads the page on screen. You in the office with sit with Chris, Nebula, Karishma, and Zoe waiting for a response.

Nebula leans towards you to whisper. "I told you we shouldn't have come here! She's probably using my phone to text her masters!"

"I CAN hear you, you know," Ms. Pershing says. "You need to get better at whispering."

Nebula shrinks back in her seat. Chris leans forward to address the principal. "So? What do you think?"

Ms. Pershing still seems to be at a loss for words. "Well, my first instinct was to ask why you're looking up erotica on school grounds with our Wi-Fi."

"Oh, I'm not! I'm using my own portable system that blocks out government interference and spy craft!" Nebula says proudly.

"Fascinating," Ms. Pershing says sarcastically. "Anyway, now I'm...I don't even know what to say."

"Well, obviously, someone's spying on us!" Karishma says in anger. "We need to call the cops!"

"Shouldn't we tell everyone that someone's spying on us?" Zoe asks.

"Absolutely not," Ms. Pershing says. "If I tell the entire female senior year and all the female teachers that someone is spying on them to write erotica, that'll cause a panic. I'm not putting my students through that ordeal."

"So then, what do we do?" You ask.

Ms. Pershing sat back and thought for a minute. "Okay, here's the plan: I'm going to call off the rest of the day of school. Everyone goes home immediately. I'll talk to the faculty about what we can do to find this guy. Be prepared for school to be cancelled tomorrow too."

"Alright! Three-and-a-half day weekend!" Karishma cheered.

"Don't be careless," Ms. Pershing warned. "We're going to find whoever this peeper is and stop him. Go get your things and go home."

She hands Nebula back her phone as you and the other girls leave the office. As you leave, the PA system announces: "Attention students and staff: please stop your classes and activities and return home. School has been cancelled for the rest of the day. Thank you."

Cheers could be heard from outside the classrooms. Nebula smiles as she looks down at her phone. "Well, I guess that's more research time for me!"

"Glad you're enjoying this, at least," Chris remarks.
