Back on Route 2

Route 2 was broken up by the Viridian Forest. Exiting through the trees, Leaf took a deep breath of happiness when she could see Pewter City in the distance. She was almost there. Moving forward, she kept her bag close as she moved, hoping to make it there as quickly as possible.

Before she could make it there however, a voice called out to her from the left.

"On your way to Pewter, huh?" said the voice. Leaf looked to see another Pokemon trainer, staring right at her.

Great, just what she needed.

"I am, yes." replied Leaf, trying to smile. She was really not wanting to fight - Pewter City was so close!

"Are you planning on taking on the Gym Leader?" the man asked, a small smirk growing on his face. He was very heavyset, with thick black hair and a vest. He was not the type Leaf trusted, and the small-talk was making her nervous.

"I was hoping to, yes. Once I get my bearings in the city." Leaf said, her voice starting to fail her.
