Chapter 27 by Wolf13
What's next?
Princess Hilda
"Tink?"
She looked up and flew over to Melfina as the RealDreams Character Delivery Pod drone arrived. "Coming!"
Dave was on his way and according to Pepper he should have arrived already but he apparently ran into a few "short delays". Well it was likely no big deal. Dave had made her and Harls both authorized "proxy" Characters. "Over here, please," she said. "I'm one of our owners proxy characters!"
The drone turned in Tink's direction and scanned her collar and the ID she presented before offering her the thumb pad. "Proxy for David Stark confirmed. Thumb print signature please."
"Proxy Characters?," Melfina asked while Tink pressed down with her thumb and got an "error" message. She frowned. "Hang on..."
Melfina watched as Twink did a little twirl that got faster and faster and faster still as she glowed extremely brightly and then ot faded and... "Wow... Tink... you're always so beautiful but this big... you're gorgeous!"
Tink smiled. "Thanks Mel!" It was true and she knew it... which was abother reason why she didn't do it often. Even the very professional workmen and women and the even more professional 3S gang were all sneaking looks her way. Fay creatures were always extremely attractive to all... except for when they weren't!
She put her thumb on the scanner and frowned as she got the error message again and a warning that a third would lock her out and the pod would return to RealDreams as a "failed delivery attempt". Then she looked at the pad and rolled her eyes. It was covered in damn prints and now in fairy dust. She sighed, quickly wiped off the screen trying again and quickly got an "accepted" message."Follow me to the delivery area please." She started to lead them to the bedroom they'd set aside for Hilda of Lorule. "Owners can designate Characters as a "Proxy". It allows them to do certain things as if they were their owner themselves. Sign for receipt of important deliveries. Access financials and make expenditures beyond certain limits. Travel with the authority of their owner though that's usually a given. Most leave it to the tracking system and rarely even bat an eye at characters traveling beyond their domicile. Many characters with jobs or certain errands and responsibilities are given a travel permission by their owners for a general area. A proxy with a travel permission can travel anywhere a normal person would be allowed to unrestricted. I could hop to Japan to buy us sushi. Or Harls could go to the moon to get a Mooney Mouse T-Shirt for Dave to give to Walt and piss him off."
Melfina blinked. "Who, what and why?"
Tink giggled. "Walter is Dave's father. Mooney Mouse is a bad/failed lunar mascot character promoting lunar tourism that pissed off fans of two different cartoon studios by ripping off designs from both and some older people are still upset they colonized the moon in the first place." She said pointing up. "I see their point a bit, it's much less beautiful and romantic now... but it's pretty silly."
Melfina blinked. "What was it before?"
Tink shrugged. "Big lifeless ball of rock and dust. It was slightly pretty hanging in the sky reflecting light softly but that was it."
Melfina blinked. "And people are upset they found a way to use something no one was using?"
Tink nodded. "It was the old folks mostly. People like Walt claim it should have been preserved... and I see his point. A lot of the parklands you'll see on different worlds are his doing... and honestly he's right. If he hadn't someone would have done them like they did the moon for a quick buck. The moon doesn't have any notable resources except as realestate. And that boomed very big... then crashed spledidly."
"Oh no," Melfina said. "I think I can see where this is going..."
Tink nodded. "Yup. Everyone who made a quick simoleon dropped it like a hot potato when the market went bust. Now it's a just a cheap gimmick tourist spot that noone actually goes to. It's hard to live there. There's no real day/night cycle. Just a side that's brighter and a side that's freezing cold and dark and only good for being a interstellar parking lot which is the moons only real source of income... other than the cheap tourism that nobody goes to of course. Nothing noteworthy is found or produced there and what was billed as the "futuristic paradise dream" is now "the most economically depressed area of Prime". It's a pretty big issue. In here."
They entered what was going to be Hilda's room. They removed her clothes, jewelry, crown and scepter and collar from the pod as well as a remote for her powers. Tink smirked almost no one used the remotes anymore. Most simply used the apps on their devices or through AIs... but the law still required characters with powers over certain levels to be sold with their collars and limiters actively on. Just like old gun safeties... which was the fate of most remotes. The owners locked them up in safes on the off chance they were needed, which was rare.
"She's pretty too," Melfina said as they opened the pod setting Hilda to wake up in 15 minutes. Tink nodded. She was pretty with her elfin like face and features, long purple hair and a fantastic figure.
"She's like you, Tink. Stunning!" She smiled. "Dave certainly has a type."
Tink blinked. She'd had a moment of quick jealousy looking at Hilda but now she looked in the mirror. She looked at herself and Hilda the way Melfina did... and smiled. "You think so? Maybe growing up with me and then Harley influenced Dave's tastes..." she smiled. "Thanks, Mel." She looked at the long legged Melfina with her slender waist and hourglass figure. "You're a knock out too, you know."
Melfina blushed. "Do you really think so?"
Tink nodded. "I do... come on we better hurry and get her dressed and out of the pod."
They quickly collared, dressed and lay Hilda on the bed. Tink escorted the pod out when they were done. As it hovered away she saw Dave come running up. His hair was a bit messed up and his clothes rumpled. She smiled and raised an eyebrow.
"*Huff* Gangsters *Puff* Short Round *Phew* had to shake 'em!"
Tink giggled. "Let me guess... you got a trinket for "safe keeping" didn't you?"
Dave grinned and held up a beautiful jewel. "The Peacock's... Eye!"
Tink shook her head. "Well at least you had fun!"
Dave nodded. "I really should... have had Pepper get someone else... but..."
Tink shook her head and kissed his cheek. "You're an adventurer too... and when adventure calls you gotta answer it. Hilda's upstairs with Mel. How was work?"
Dave grinned. "Pretty interesting actually! Harls and I interviewed everyone except Midna together. She's doing her now. Your recommendations were very intriguing by the way. I think Saki will be a wonderful addition and dealing with Twilight/Midnight was pretty... interesting... is that shouting?"
Tink's eyes widened. "Melfina!" They both raced for the stairs and up to the bedroom where there were two sets of raised voices and-
"I can't say I'm looking forward to being an "Imp" again," Twili Midna said crossing her arms.
Imp Midna meanwhile had done the same thing hover upside down in the air. "And in truth I'm not looking forward to being a "proper princess". While this form has it's inconveniences, it has got it's freedoms too."
Twili Midna looked at her Imp form and gave a slight smile. "We did have fun... didn't we? Despite how bad our situation was..."
Imp Midna grinned at her. "It really was the best and worst of times! And now, according to her, one of our "young heroes" has found a way to come for us!"
Twili Midna nodded smirking. "And he chose us over the other princess! How... scandalous!"
Harley grinned. "Actually you'll be living with kind of Zelda's opposite." She pulled out a picture of Princess Hilda. "Hilda here is from a mirror realm of Lorule which is seperate from your own realm. She's a bit more proactive then Zelda, was actually a bit of an antagonist and has certain traits in opposition to Zelda. She's willing to make immoral decisions and actions to save her land and people. She's a princess who's not afraid to get her hands dirty. She's got a bit of a spiteful streak and yet she's also willing to forgive and do the right thing like you two."
"Oh dear," Twili Midna chuckled. "Our hero not only likes underhanded princesses..."
"But he prefers them over Zelda?" Imp Midna giggled. "Sorry... that's very flattering and intriguing!"
Harley grinned nodding. "You bet he does! In here I'm a doctor but out there I'm a dark jester myself!" She winked.
Twili Midna leaned forward. "You don't say..."
Imp Midna grinned. "We also enjoy a sense of humor!" She looked at Twili Midna and nodded and she nodded back. "We don't really have a choice but..."
"We consent all the same," Twili Midna said finishing. "The offer us simply..."
"Too intriguing to pass up!" Finished Imp Midna.
Harley grinned and leaned in conspiratorial like. "Don't tell the other princesses from your series but just between us... you were his favorite from your series with Hilda a close second because of her differences as well."
Both Midna's smiled. "We're the favorite? We simply have to meet this hero now!"
Harleen nodded and git up to leave. "Well then shall we-" her phone made a noise alert she hadn't ever heard before. "Excuse me just one moment ladies," she said consulting her phone her eyes going wide with surprise. "Control collar safety restraint activated? Melfina?! What the fu-"
