Into the DigiMatrix Revolutions

Sam regained consciousness with the others as she held a digivice in one hand and an egg in another. The egg was white with red stripes randomly placed along the shell. Sam held them up and looked at them with affection. The events that replayed in the Kernel reminded her why she joined John and his kingdom and refilled her with resolve now that she had a way to fight back.

“Like that was tots weird. The rewards are tight, tho,” she said as she combined the digivice with her phone. “So, like, when will this thing hatch?” asked Sam as she inspected it.

“Turns out those two are quite good at hatching eggs,” Shelly said as she pointed to the derps, who were playing tag with the various digimon, which included a small, round digimon that was covered in what appeared to be white hair.

“Aww, that one is tots adorbs!” exclaimed Sam when she saw the new digimon. “They cracked your egg, eh?” asked Sam, to which Shelly merely nodded. “Heeeeeey, cuuuuutiiiiiieeees!” Sam said to get the derps attention, which she immediately got. The two young ones rushed over to Sam and lept onto her, each one attached to a leg.

“Samsam!” they said in unison.

“Hey girlies, wanna, like, do me a total solid and hatch this thing?” she said as she brought it down to their eye level. The two began to lick the egg, which slowly started to glow.

“While those two work on hatching that digitama, I shall take my turn in the Kernel. I wonder which memory I shall relive,” pondered Gali as she made her way to the connection to the holy land of the Digital World. She took a deep breath, and then touched the object. The same bright light engulfed her as it did the others and she found herself in the void of the Kernel.

“Another visitor. Scanning,” said D76 as it ascertained what species Gali was. “Cross referencing with all known digital media. Compiling… analyzing… finalizing… Elf. Light type. State your reason for visiting the Kernel,” asked D76.

“Esteemed avatar of Yggdrasil, I beg of you for the ability to fight alongside my king and allies,” requested Gali as she gave a slight bow in reverence to the creature she spoke to.

“Request accepted. Activating mental scan…” was the last thing Gali heard before she was flung back in time to an event she had long forgotten about.

“Princess Galienia Sunwarden, youngest child of high royal highness, Sun King Galleus Sunwarden, may he reign for as long as the sun shines, it is time for you to take your final vows. You shall renounce your royalty, your freedom, your body, your soul, everything, to the almighty sun that gives us and everything else life. You shall forever revere it and do your best to ensure it remains bright in the sky for future generations. Now come, we shall go before the alter,” a stern, older female light elf told the young priestess princess. The two made their way into a majestic temple that had been precisely made with certain angles and glass windows that allowed for maximum light into the temple and to shine on key parts of the temple, such as the Alter of the Sun.

As the two walked through the temple, the various priests and priestesses joined them in their trek to the main altar. The line got longer and longer as the two made their way through the wide halls, the bright sun illuminated their way as it shone brightly in their kingdom. The two soon reached the Altar of the Sun, where an older light elf man stood, draped in a white robe and held a staff firmly in his left hand. The priestess that brought Gali to this location soon joined him and picked up her own staff. Both staves held the sun on the top, to show their devotion to the great ball of fire in the sky. Gali bowed down in front of the two high priests of the order as the rest of the priesthood stood along the side of the room.

“Galienia Sunswarden, has the High Priestess told you what is to come with this ritual?” asked the High Priest.

“She has, High Priest,” answered Gali as she knelt down in front of the two leaders of the light elf religion.

“Good. Then you shall strip yourself of all your vestments and bathe in the holy light of the Sun,” the High Priest commanded. Gali wordlessly followed his command as she began to disrobe. The elder elf continued as she stripped. “We shall recite the ancient chant to bind the power of the very Sun to your skin, as all have done before you. You shall glow as brightly as the Sun in the darkest of times. You shall be a beacon to your fellow elves to shine as an example of what an elf should be. Now rise, and prepare to receive the final blessing!” blared the High Priest as Gali did as she was told.

All the priests and priestesses gathered around Gali in a predetermined position based on their hierarchy. The High Priest and High Priestess stayed in front of Gali as she stood proudly in the nude to receive the Blessing of the Sun.

“Oh mighty Sun, ah ah ah! Giver of life, ah ah ah! Bringer of the day, ah ah ah! Banisher of the night, ah ah ah! Make this one your champion, ah ah ah! Shine her skin, ah ah ah! Bless her with your might, ah ah ah!” The group of religious peoples continued their chant, all the while the rays of light from the Sun shone brighter and brighter each time the chant was completed. Soon, the rays begin to burn on Gali’s skin but at the same time she feels a great power rise inside of her. Gali brought her hands up to her face and she saw as her fair skin slowly began to turn a golden color. As the chant went on and the rays became more powerful, she saw that golden hue become more and more pronounced until her skin became a bright golden hue. Once her skin was clearly golden, the chant stopped and the High Priest cleared his throat to regain the attention of all in attendance.

Galienia Sunswarden, you have completed the right of the Sun’s Chosen. You are now a full Priestess of the Sun, with all rights and privileges that come with that rank,” the High Priest told Gali.

“Welcome, sister! Come let us talk about your new duties,” the High Priestess said as she handed Gali her ceremonial robe and beckoned Gali to follow the elder female priestess.

“Your request will be granted,” D76 said as it quickly decided on what digitama to give the golden skinned light elf that stood in front of the god terminal. A flash of light blinded Gali temporarily as she was transferred back to the ruins where she and the rest of the group waited. Unfortunately, she did not come back to a happy scene.

“Tailmon, BlackTailmon, flank them from the sides while they’re distracted!” John ordered his two cat-like digimon to attack the Wendimon as it and the Labramon that followed it had launched an attack on John and his group.

“Neko Punch!” shouted Tailmon as it attacked the Wendimon from the left.

“Neko Kick!” yelled the BlackTailmon as it attacked Wendimon from the right. The two attacks connected as Wendimon took the full brunt of both attacks.

“Corona Flame!”

“Tear Shoot!” The two digimon of the derps launched their own attacks against Wendimon at the same time. The four attacks were all too much for Wendimon, which burst into data as its life ended.

“Galigirl, glad you, like, made it!” Sam said as she saw Gali come to where the others were at as they watched the fight happen.

“It seems much has happened since I went into the Kernel,” Gali said as she stated her observations.
