“I doubt they were friends,” Buffy replied. “Mom’s not home.”

Xander paused as he made his way out of the school. He hated going to get Angel, but it was the right move. They were outnumbered and saving Buffy and Willow was at the top of his mind.

Next was the fact that he needed to enlist his hated rival for help.

A distant third concern was that by trying to sneak out he was actually engaging in something incredibly dangerous.
