Trying to give a police statement

“We finally found Jamie when the Precious Shirahoshi Trio got on stage, it turned out he had wandered into their dressing room and had taken a nap in the red one’s hair without her noticing,” you exclaimed with Zoey and Diana laughing at image of your twin brother waking up while a large mermaid was performing. You look out the window and see that you were already making the landing approach. “Looks like we are almost back on Prime Earth.”

“Earth Prime!” Zoey said with a glint in her eyes.

“Right…Earth Prime,” you said, trying to avoid that political debate. You got back in the pilot seat and gave your authorization to traffic control. After about ten minutes you finally got permission to enter the atmosphere (Prime World’s Earth was a near constant flow of traffic as people took ships between universes and distant stars). Soon you were requesting your authorization to land at your respective Rein Corp office which was quickly granted.

“Dock 4, dock 4,...” you say looking for the right place to land. “There it is, probably could’ve guessed with the ambulance there.” You landed the shuttle and Gogo quickly opened the door to let the paramedics in. Bub’s light turned yellow as the unfamiliar adults approached Zoey. Thankfully Zoey was able to reassure him before he could do anything against them.

“Bye Mister Gardner, Miss Gogo, and Miss Diana!” Zoey said as her gurney was taken away with Bub hurriedly crawling after them.

“See ya later!” You called after them as you removed the data cores from the storage device and set them on a foldout cart. You take the cart out of the shuttle with Diana and Gogo picking up your trash and belongings. Blinking away the sudden harshness of the sunlight compared to trashworld and space, you go down the slight ramp and notice that the ambulance still hasn’t left.

“I’m sorry but you are too big!” The paramedic was shouting at Bub who was trying to get into the ambulance with them.

“Can’t he just hang off the back?” You could hear Zoey ask.

“That is way too dangerous!” You were going to walk over to suggest using one of the facility’s trailers or borrowing a shrink ray when a familiar police officer stepped in front of you.

“Hello James Gardner,” said John Nolan from The Rookie. Since he knows you by name, you figure it was the same one who had escorted you to the evidence characters and had briefly arrested Starfire.

“Hello Officer Nolan,” you say, giving him a handshake. You could see Bub dropping his weapon pack and carrier but was still too big for the ambulance.

“Can we talk over here?” Nolan asked as he walked you away from the shuttle and got out a notepad. “Can I have your statement while it's still fresh in your mind?”

“Can it wait a minute? I want to see if I can help them take Bub with them,” you say as you try walking around him. Nolan looked at the massive Big Daddy and used his comm.

“Hey April, where are we on that shrink ray?”

“I’m right behind you,” a short Prime Worlder officer showed up and fired the police standard shrink ray at Bub. Bub’s light turned red as he shrunk down to the point he could be carried around like a small plushie. Bub was smart enough to realize that he could now go with Zoey and quickly climbed, leaving behind his still full sized weapons and carrier. Now that that was dealt with you turned back to Officer Nolan.

“Where were we?” Nolan smiled at you politely as he retook out his notepad.

“Well–” you start.

“Hey James!” Supervisor Geoff shouted as he approached. “As soon as you are done giving your statement, just take off for the day. I’ll finish up your paperwork and drop off the characters.”

“Are you sure? I should probably still give the lab guys a heads up; one of the chickens went Kaiju on us and the mermaids went twister.” You asked a bit concerned.

“I’ll take care of it,” Supervisor Geoff said as he took the cart away from you and took it inside.

“Unless someone else has something, I’ll make the statement,” you say after giving a final wave at Zoey as the ambulance closed its doors and drove away.
