Check in on Starfire

Your girls reluctantly took their place in the pen with your name on it while you gave the Tifa their orders. Gogo in particular didn’t want to deal with tonight sober. After making sure everything was ready to go on your characters’ end, you checked on the plants in the room. They were thankfully real plants and from what they were saying, very willing to follow your orders. You spent a few minutes teaching them the cards mentally which caused the other to send you strange looks.

“I’m going to check on Starfire, just stay here,” you tell your girls who were sipping their drinks while Erza ate a strawberry cheesecake delivered from the kitchen.

“Like we have a choice,” Gogo scoffed before eating some of her snacks. You left your case of money with Tifa while you and your dad walked to the infirmary.

“So what happened to the first floor east game room?” You are curious as usually the walls and floors were durable enough to handle most anything. They were designed that way after the third time some of your dad’s merchandise got loose and he had to rebuild the mansion as a result.

“Well, your mom, some of my harem, and I were having fun in the second floor tea parlor when the floor started shaking and not in a good way,” he answered sheepishly. “The floor collapsed and finished destroying that game room.”

“Finished?” You ask for clarification while the two of you enter an elevator.

“Your brother Geoff got in an argument with Molly and they took out a couple of pillars,” he explained.

“Again?” You groan as you remember all the fuck ups the twins Geoff and Molly have done. They might be older than you but they act like they are still teens at summer camp. They have been banned from both a Camp Crystal Lake and a Lake Placid recreation camp (two separate camps on three separate occasions) for destroying the places before the adventures could start.

“Yup, I wish they would do that at their own house,” he said as the two of you left the elevator and quickly finished your journey to the infirmary where Starfire’s chrysalis was located. You enter the room and see Doctor Joy and Auntie Delia washing Starfire’s chrysalis. Auntie Delia was also running a few scans and taking notes.

“Hello Doc, Delia, how is she?” You ask as you approach them.

“Hello James she is doing just fine, I would say two or three more days and she will be ready,” Doctor Joy replied cheerfully.

“Why is it taking so long? Last time she was in a chrysalis, while she was undergoing the change for a week she was only a chrysalis for an hour.”

“Well, you answered your own question, this transformation requires the chrysalis stage for the duration,” Delia explains and helpfully pulls up the information. After glancing through it, you ask for a little space. You sit in an empty seat.

“Hey Starfire, can’t wait for you to be out here with me again…” you start and spend a few minutes talking about your days and the happenings around your house. You continue talking until your dad gets a call from the Toads outside.

“He’s here? Thank you,” your dad says as he approaches you.

“Come on son, they are starting to arrive.” You nod and say your goodbyes to Starfire’s Chrysalis, Doctor Joy, and Auntie Delia. You followed your dad back to the game room to greet the other players…
