Minor Car Accident and an invitation

Craaash! You quickly pull over, and get out of the car. You see a car directly behind the follow van and Mike was climbing out of his door. “Is everyone alright?” You call out as you walk through the intersection.

“I am; don’t know about your characters,” He commented as you walked over, you saw that a car had crashed into the back of the van, though it didn’t look too bad. The car was one you knew to be pricey, commercials mention flight, speed and other features. The Arius BB8 you think it's called.

“I’m so sorry,” the driver of the Arius cried as they left their car after being stunned for a second. It was a young person who barely looked old enough for their license.

“Let me handle it, just sit tight,” an older man stepped out to meet Mike and you. You can tell he was the parent of the driver. You feel like you recognize him but not sure where.

“Are you three alright,” You ask, looking into the van while Mike talks with the parent.

“I think Gogo bumped her head but that hit wasn’t anything serious for me,” Erza replied as she tried to look at a cut on Gogo's head despite the girl covering it with her hand.

“Shampoo is also alright.”

“Okay, I’m going to talk with these guys and we’ll see about getting the cut checked out,” you assured happy they weren't too hurt and knowing that while it wasn’t a lot of damage since the girls were still technically held by Reintegration Corp until delivery you could get some compensation for damaged delivery.

“The characters hurt?” You hear Mike ask. You turn back and nod but before you could elaborate he turns back to the parent. You decide to join in the conversation while Diana and Marinette (who had gotten out of the car) checked on ones in the van.

“I’m not worried about the Van, the company will take care of that. The cargo was damaged so we cannot just wave this off,” he tells the parent who looks vaguely familiar.

“I’m not trying to make this go away, I can pay for the van and the cargo,” the man looked almost insulted at the implication that he was trying to cover up the crash. “I just need to know how much to pay for compensation and insurance information; I don’t want a lawsuit nor misunderstanding.”

“I bought the characters, he was helping to deliver them,” You say to him before Mike could respond.

“Good, here's a voucher for a free character from one of my stores, to compensate for the damage…,” He paused and really looked at you. “You’re Charles’ kid.” You look at him surprised.

“Yeah, I’m James Gardner,” you reply, a bit stunned at hearing your dad’s name from a stranger.

“I attend his high stakes poker games,” He replies, smiling as he passes a slip of paper to you that clearly indicated that I was owed a premium character from a Collins Chattel Palace location. “And here are four for you as long as you don’t sue for the fender bender.” He passes four more over to Mike who gladly accepts it.

“You just had these,” You ask, questioning the validity of them.

“I have a bunch left over from Lil’ Wing’s birthday party,” he gestures to the driver who pouted at the nickname.

“Dad! You promised to stop calling me that.” You chuckle at the response. You finally recognize them as Frank Collins, owner of multiple Collins Chattel Palace stores across the town, many of whom sell high quality and/or rare characters. You spend a few more minutes exchanging information and making sure everyone is alright. You spent some time chatting with Frank for a bit while Mike looked over the van a bit more. He invites you to a party in a month that you vaguely remember your parents mention. Collins and his kid finally drove off once everyone was satisfied and he had a recording of us promising not to sue him.

“Let’s get your characters home shall we,” Mike said as he got back into the van and stored away the vouchers. You got back in the car (after the characters who got out got back in) and were able to get them home without more issues.
