Long lost pet character

“Leave her alone!” You shouted as soon as you saw one of the workers pull a shock baton out. “She’s mine.”

“She was abandoned at the kennel and now the company’s,” Sam pointed out. You grimace at that reply.

“She was stolen right before I started working here,” you answer, still in disbelief of seeing your lost character after so long. You decide to address Starfire. “How did you end up at that kennel?”

“Josh said he was dropping me off at your new house but he took me to people who were not nice. I escaped and tried to fly home but the police stopped me and dropped me off there.” She explained while looking away shyly, embarrassed at her failure to return. You note to tell your parents to add stealing Starfire to the lawsuit against Josh their former employee; they had suspected he had stolen her in addition to the other stuff. He was sitting in a cell currently but the civil suit is still going.

“They didn’t check your ownership chip?” You asked incredulously, most characters have an ownership chip or collar that, like the name suggests, lets people know who owns a particular character so if lost they can be quickly returned.

“They said the chip was corrupted, so they kept me there until you came by but you never did,” She finished crossing her arms and pouting.

“I went to all the shelters and pounds, but I didn’t find you. What about your bar-” You are cut off by Sam.

“I am glad for your reunion but can you take this elsewhere,” they asked, tapping her foot. You remember you are blocking the entrance to the cargo van and urge Starfire off, much to her and your own disappointment.

“What is going on here?” Supervisor Geoff asked as he walked up. You quickly explain the situation with Starfire floating behind you and hugging your neck.

“Hmmm. And you have proof of ownership?” He asked and you looked up at Starfire.

“Is the barcode still intact?” You ask her and she nodded, rolling up her sleeveless crop top and lifting her D-cup breast to show a QR-code on the underside of her left one. Geoff used a scanner and it confirmed that this Starfire was the one you owned.

“How much do you have available?” Geoff asked and you showed your balance. “Transfer Sam a standard shipment fee and then take Starfire to the modification lab to get her ownership chip re-registered.”

“Will do, sir.” You reply and quickly move off with Starfire.
