"Thanks once again for all your hard work~!" A female staff member smiled at a cheerful looking girl as she walked past her, heading towards the entrance of the office building she worked at.

"Ehehe~ It's no big deal~ I'm always happy to help out when I can~!" Replied said cheerful girl, her blonde hair swishing about as she energetically moved around.

"I know that much, please take care of yourself today~!" The female staff member waved goodbye at the girl, shaking her head while giving a small laugh. "I swear, that Nene never changes~...oh!?" Suddenly, she shuddered, a chill climbing up her spine as she felt quite cold. However, this lasted for only a moment and just as quickly, the chill and odd feeling disappeared. "...What the heck...? Was that...the wind...somehow...?" Despite the oddity, she eventually just shook her head and dismissed it as a one time thing.

"Hm hm hm~" Nene hummed to herself as she walked the streets, almost skipping as she made her way through the busy crowds of people. "Maan~ I wish the streets weren't so packed at this time of day~" She lightly complained, never losing her smile as she headed towards the train station. "Hm~?" Nene slowly peered around the area as she felt as though someone was watching her. "Wonder if there's a fan looking out for me, hehe~!" She giggled to herself, soon setting aside the feeling.

While it wasn't all the time, often times she and her fellow members of Hololive, the idol/talent agency/company she worked under, would get stopped or watched from afar by eager fans wanting a pic or a chat with them. Some members would get frustrated after a certain while or after getting stopped too many times, but that sort of publicity is something they all were all going to receive eventually once they were accepted into Hololive. With that in mind, in Nene's case, she was normally down to chat and take a few pictures with her "husbands", the affectionate nickname she has for her fans as she enjoys the interactions as much as her fans did.

"Still, I hope they show up soon~ hmm~ maybe if I headed out into a more open area, they'll be a bit more brave." She muttered her plans out as she changed directions, heading towards a park she noticed earlier. Of course, as she did head there, she actually was stopped by some fans and took some photos with them. Afterwards, she found herself sitting by the fountain, her legs swinging about back and forth as she waited patiently for whoever was watching her to show up, even bringing up her phone and texting her friends to look a bit more relaxed and oblivious, in case that person was anxious Nene was suspicious and was trying to bait them into a confrontation, of which she totally wasn't, obviously.

Unfortunately, around 30 minutes into her wait, Nene's stomach growled, and, try as she might, she couldn't resist wanting to fill up her belly. "Aww, well...I think I've waited long enough!" She hopped up, wobbling a little before stabilizing herself and beginning to find. "And that feeling is gone too...did I scare them off? That would suck...!" She pouted momentarily before her stomach reminded her to go eat. "Mmm...maybe next time then, I'll get them good! Nobody escapes from Nene unmet, hehe~!" She giggled happily as she found a local ramen shop to head into, unaware that the person who was watching her earlier was definitely still watching her and was far closer than she thought, a grin on his lips as he followed her even more closely, his ghostly form trailing behind her.

"Haa~ That was good~" Nene sighed in contentment, finishing her bowl of Tonkotsu ramen. "I should recommend this place to Lamy, Polka, Shishiron and the others~!" To which she immediately did so once she headed out; taking a picture of the restaurant and its name before sending it to their personal group chat. "Hmm~ and maybe a selfie for myself~" She set the camera on her phone to selfie mode and posed, making a peace sign with one of her hands and a cute smile.

*Snap*

"Hehe~ Alright, hope that turned out well~!" Nene flipped to the photo and immediately noticed something odd about it. "Hm? Why's that spot all blurry?" She tilted her head in confusion as she saw that a small portion of the area behind her was all blurred despite the rest of the photo being crystal clear. "Mmm...this..kinda looks like the silhouette of a person...no?" She rubbed her eyes just in case and it clearly still there once she looked at it again. "That's so weird...! Maybe I'll have some of the other girls check it out later, maybe some weird camera trick happened." She shrugged after giving up trying to figure it out herself, tucking her phone back into her pocket as she decided to head home for the day.

"Oh, the sun's starting to get low, gotta move faster~ Gotta get back ho-mmee?!" Nene whirled around as she heard a breath get blown into her ear. "W-Wha?!" Startled, she stumbled backwards and onto the ground. "O-Ow..." She winced, rubbing her butt as she got up before fixing her skirt. "What was that..." Struggling to control her breathing and also calming down to the best of her ability, she practically bolted the rest of the way home, a feeling of anxiety and paranoia hitting her hard.

*Huff...Huff* "Wh-what the heck...what just happened...?" Panting heavily, and just now locking the door behind her, Nene let out a sigh of relief. "What's going on today...first a non-existent fan following me...then that blurry part of the pic...then that...whatever that was...it felt like someone was blowing into my ear... but nobody was behind me at the moment...and the people that were there were too far away...am I just having a weird day...it's not like anything really bad happened though...ugh...Ahhh! Get over it already, Nene!!" She suddenly smacked her cheeks with both hands.

"Ow! But I needed that! I can't let these silly things get me all wound up!" She puffed her cheeks up momentarily as she headed into her room. "Still, I do need to calm down a bit~! Ah, I know~!" She picked up her VR headset, not seeing the small sparks coming out from its side as it reacted to something, smiling excitedly. "Nothing like a bit of VR gaming to calm me down~! I always wanted to give the new VRChat a shot~! I can't believe full dive tech is a thing now~" Soon enough, she cleared the area around her and placed a mat down, just in case she fell. "Alright, prepped and ready~!" Nene then put on the VR headset.

"Come on~ Come on~ Aww, what? An update already?" She then pouted as the game needed to update. "Let's see...the update's super small though, probably only a few seconds~! Whew, I was thinking I would need to wait even longer and get this headset off~" She hurriedly accepted the update to her set's software and watched through the headset as the update quickly installed before the game reset. "Hm?" Nene was immediately confused yet again at the strangeness that happened. "Where am I?" She looked around ingame as she found herself in a blank, open space. "I can't open the menu either...is this a bug? And who's that...?" She then saw what she assumed was either an NPC or another player and decided to approach them.

"Heeeeyyy~ Hey thereeee~" Nene called out to the 'player' as she thought, eager and curious to know what's going on.

"Oh...~? Hehe...she's finally here...Well, I guess it's showtime~" The 'player' muttered to himself with his own eager look coming onto his face as he turned to face the Vtuber idol.

"Heyooo~! Hi~" Nene finally made her way over to the stranger, waving happily, receiving a wave back. "Hey, sorry to bother you, sir, but uh, do you know what's going on right now?" She smile confusedly.

"Oh, uh, to be honest, I don't really know myself, haha~! I was just looking around to see if I could find someone!" He laughed in response. "Have you tried to log out?" He asked Nene curiously.

"I tried! But I can't access my menu for some reason!" She complained, puffing out her cheeks.

"Huh...that's strange, I can access mine pretty easily though." He looked baffled as he showed her his own menu.

"Whaaaaa???!!" Nene just looked at him wide-eyed in shock. "But howwww!?! Tell meee!" She quickly got close and personal to him, giving him the puppy dog eyes.

"E-Er...uh, I'm not really sure what to tell you...oh! But if you're looking to log out, I can lend you my menu for the moment." He smiled sincerely at her.

"Huh? That kind of thing's possible now?!" She had to do a double take on the situation at hand.

"Mhm~! Of course, here." He ended up tapping a few buttons on his menu and suddenly a request showed up in front of Nene.

"Hm...accept offer to use menu? Huh...man, technology's gotten super advanced now!" She tapped to accept and just like he said, the menu disappeared from in front of him and reappeared in front of her. "Woah~! So cool~! Uh, will you be alright though?"

"Ahaha~! Don't worry, I'll get logged out with you~" He reassured her, giving her a thumbs up.

"Oohh...~" She just looked impressed and once again briefly marveled at how far technology's come. "Okaayy~ Thanks again sir~!" Nene then clicked the log out button, and her consciousness went dark.

"Ahaha...No, Miss Nene..." he grinned.

Outside of the virtual world, Nene's body stood catatonically still, her mouth open and drooling slightly. It had only been a few minutes since she entered the virtual world. Suddenly, her whole body shuddered, but only for a moment, her hands opening and closing before slowly moving up to the headset, then removing it. She then moved to the mirror and observed herself before grinning and licking her lips.

"...I should be thanking you~" He cupped his new breasts, giving a good squeeze and letting out a moan. "For now though, let's get to work, shall we~ this is gonna be a busy week, after all~" With a skip in her step, 'Nene' set about planning her next moves.
