The Nodding Necklace was the colloquial name for a cursed necklace. The necklace was solid 24k gold and simply said yes.
The necklace was cursed: whoever wore it could not refuse any command or request made. Not only that, but the curse also made the wearer not want to take the necklace off, nor would she draw any connection between the necklace and her refusal to say "no."
