Not if they forget

The guys just grumble and leave. Once they are out of listening range you and the girl break out laughing. You tell them “I can’t believe they forgot the loot and harvest!”

They laugh some more.

Eventually you get serious. “If you can prevent others from knowing what I am about to tell you, do so.”

The lost their mirth at the look on your face and seemed to focus on something for a bit before Alizin told him “I stopped this being recorded. What’s so important?”

“I have been trying to get you alone since I joined your group. There is a reason I made the second offer to join it. When I questioned you lot about why your contact said he wasn’t coming, and how it seemed suspicious, the guys got fear in their eyes. It wasn’t there before, but only after I implied they should have known the story did not add up. Also, ask yourself how they knew the PK area’s location.

“I do not expect you to trust me. Go and see if that conversation was recorded and decide for yourselves. One thing most new players forget is that they are in their Avatar’s body and thus may not have the same control as they do in theirs.”

The girls looked terrified and their eyes unfocused. After a bit they seemed to regather their wits and started swearing. Boy, were they angry!

They also agreed with your assessment.

“I told you about this in private so you can act before they know you know about their part. What they also don’t seem to realize is that those who went after those who were waiting in the manor will have recorded things before attacking them. They will offer to show you the recordings so you can try to identify some by their faces, voices, usernames if you know them, minor habits they have, or other clues they let slip.”

The ladies nodded and had anger in their hearts. They might hate what they had learned, but were glad you were looking out for them.

Smiling a bit, you tell them, “Now, let’s go to town and try to hear their screams of rage when they realize they gave up everything they had won or earned, other than XP."
