Chapter 12 by AnchorPillar AnchorPillar

School any different?

Very, and that’s just the outside.

Your high school didn’t look too different at first glance, a few extra buildings, some extra plants, but it wasn’t long before you realized that some of the extra buildings were floating and the plants literally glowed. The parking lot that Jess pulled into was looked on from above by a floating crystal. The crystal itself decorated with a filigree that orbited it along its center. Looking around you found there was a smaller crystal on top of every light post you could see.

“Still with us Hana?” Jess asked as she finished putting her keys away. “Remember as far as everyone else is concerned you’ve lived your entire life here so try not to look too slack jawed” she tapped away at her phone “oh and I guess to make things a little easier for me I guess I should explain our relationship.” You had the sudden sensation of a bolder making it’s way into your stomach.

“Long story short: we’re old friends now.” The boulder grew four times heavier from her vagueness. Shauna laughed

“Give her a small break Jess, we can’t have her turning pale. People will think she’s awakening more.” You sighed inwardly, wondering if this was at all better than whatever Jess had in mind for if you just stayed in bed.

“Anything else change in my relationships? Make the president of the Anime club my boyfriend or something?” pinching your nose was about the only physical movement that felt somewhat normal, and even than your fingers felt weirdly delicate against your new face.

“Oh, actually no and yes.” Jess excitedly looked back at her phone. As the three of you finally got out of the car.

“You remember the Richards twins?” Shauna asked. “Football playing assholes who break bones for fun? Well not anymore. Not ever actually in this world.”

“They’re gonna be hitting on me with some really bad lines aren’t they?”

“Welcome to being a woman, Hana.” Shauna grinned as they turned down a path that was new to you, leading to one of the floating buildings.

“I think more can wait until after first period.”Jess said, still deep in her phone. You are developing a fear of seeing her type away. “I think it will do us all some good.”

Walking up the stairs to the floating classroom, you really hope it’s just your new body making your bag feel at least ten pounds heavier now.

How’s First Period Class?
