Pixel calls for aid

(A few minutes before)

The streets were full of debris and fire as people worked to keep the Borg away from the center of Villa circle. “Re-quip!” Ironically, most of the debris was from the defenders instead of the Borg. Erza swung her sword, flinging a line of over twenty Borg thirty meters and slicing a townhouse style building in half.

“Leave something for the Borg to destroy!” Katara complained as she froze a group using water from a simple fountain. The two looked around and seeing the coast was clear, they started walking back towards the villa. Erza made a gesture to a group of muscle bound humans. They picked up some wood panels and metal fencing and started to patch up a barricade while another group (with more than just humans) in romanesque armor stood watch.

Soon Erza and Katara passed various groups of people standing around, ducking whenever phaser fire or an explosion happened too close. They walked past Kyoka working some kind of headset with a group of engineers while Gaige was under a pavilion with dozens of monitors with dots covering a map of the city.

“Hey Aelita! The Dilbourgh Street barricade is cleared up,” Erza reported as she finally arrived back in the villa that the harem and James were staying in. In the middle of the front courtyard, Aelita was seated with Starfire on a couch that was brought outside from the living room. A Risian girl was fanning her with a palm leaf while another had a fruit basket available.

Around her were various PADDS and comms connecting her to information around the safe zone the harem and some friendly LARPers had secured around the villa’s neighborhood.

“Good, Kate is leading another group of people up from the beach who weren’t able to get to the shelters in time,” Aelita said. She ate an apple from the fruit bowl. “They are bringing a few people in the middle of assimilation. I really hope those StarFleet doctors will be able to save them.”

“If they are like Doctor Bones, then the victims are in good hands,” Katara said as she took an offered water bottle and took a drink.

“The local Doctor Bones is one of them,” Starfire pointed out. “But he be very much the elder. A Doctor Crusher is also there.”

“Huh, small universe,” Katara noted. “Well where do you need–”

“Kirlia!” People (except for the harem members) jumped as Pixel suddenly appeared on the table before Aelita. Aelita sighed as Pixel stood on the PADDS and knocked over a few things. Before Aelita could ask Pixel to hop off the table, she started to chatter quickly.

“James was transported away by the Borg! And you are going on a rescue mission with Laura and Shampoo!” Starfire gasped in surprise.

“James is what?!” Aelita’s eyes widened as the apple in her hands burst open.

“Pixel says that he, Diana, Mariner and Purple Head got transported to the Borg Cube and she needs some help finding them on the ship,” Starfire explains.

“Purple Head? She means Shampoo?” Erza asked with a raised eyebrow.

“No, her nickname for Shampoo is Wild Kitty.”

“That doesn’t matter,” Aelita declares as she takes a thinking pose after wiping the apple remains with a towel. “We need to figure out who will go. We can’t send everyone or else we might get overrun. Let’s see who’s available.” After consulting the information she was receiving and discussion with the harem, it was quickly decided that Kyoka, Gwen Tennyson, Katara, and Alex will join Pixel on the raid. Speaking of whom, Pixel had briefly Teleported to her room for a few moments before coming back to Teleport her allies to her ‘acquired’ ship.

“Thanks for letting me know, we’ll be there as soon as we can,” Charles Gardner said as he disconnected the holocal and the tiny holographic Pixel disappeared. He turned to his extensive family who were loudly debating the merit of what brand of grapple hook was best for adventuring and hero-ing. “Listen up! James and Mariner, my granddaughter’s mother, got taken by a Borg Cube and are in all likelihood either in the middle of being assimilated or getting probed. You know what this means.”

“He gets a free trip to Ice Girls Paradise?” Bowe suggested.

“He owes us a barrel of brandy?” Larry Gardner spoke up.

“We need to get him remedial combat training?” Poppy mumbled through a mouth full of bagel.

“All that and more,” Charles announced. “But more importantly, we are about to go Redonkulus Speed!” He hit the nearby intercom as his kids and wives started shouting. “Full steam ahead!” All the engines in the Fleet glowed a bright blue color before the entire fleet disappeared in a horrifying warping of space and time that quickly dispersed after.
