Picking up the girl

Deep breath. In and out. In and out. You got this. You got this. All you have to do is knock on the door and pray her father isn't overprotective. Better yet, that her father isn't home. Here goes nothing.

Shit her father's home.

"Oh, you must be Joseph. Nice to meet you" he said as he extended his hand. Mine was trembling, but I shook back.

"Y-yes. It's n-nice to meet you sir" I said. This just made him laugh.

"Don't worry kid, I'm not one of those fathers. I can tell you're nervous, and I won't make it worse. Just know that I'm really glad that you've made Any happy. She hasn't smiled this much in a long time" he said. Ok, good. He's a really nice man.

"Th-thank you sir" I said. Hey, I never said my nerves left.

"Amy, your date's here" he called out as he let me in. It was a pretty average house, but felt very cozy, unlike mine.

"I'm coming" she called out. Once she appeared, I felt my heart flutter.

Wow, she looks incredible. I know most guys would like to see more skin, but I'm not like that.

"You look beautiful" I said. This made her blush, which made her even cuter.

"Thanks. I ah, I'm really happy you think so" she said. I just smiled and took her hand.

"Are you ready" I said. I guess it was really smooth, because she blushed even more.

"Y-yes" she said. I smiled, gave a bow of respect to her dad, and walked her outside. I'd say this is going pretty well so far.
