Chapter 4 by sumedokin sumedokin

End of Part 1

Part 2

The crowd roared around them.
The ghost turned invisible, leaving the fighters alone in the stage.”
“I’m gonna enjoy breaking you!” Olga stated, cracking her knuckles.
She formed an arc between her fingers, before she extinguished it by closing her fist. She threw a punch though the air, opening her hand to unleash a giant lightning bolt.
It struck the cage, leaving Meredith unfazed.

“Huh. So it looks like you got some tricks up your sleeves.” Olga chuckled, “But no trick is gonna work when faced up against real power!”
She unleashed another lightning bolt. One far more devastating. It struck the bars, but left the mummy intact.
“All right,” Olga huffed annoyed, “Playtime’s over.”
She fired bolt after bolt. No matter the power though, it kept being deflected. Turns out that kind of cage, when exposed to lightning strikes creates a symmetric electric field inside that neutralizes the charge, leaving anyone within unscathed.
It was pure physics. But for Olga, it was a matter of willpower. Soon enough she had exhausted herself, and couldn’t manage to output so much as a spark.
During all that time, Meredith had uttered her own incantation, wielding powerful ice magic. With her mana drained, Olga’s magic resistance had been reduced. Soon enough, she froze in place.
Meredith merely threw off the cage, walked up to Olga, and pushed the ice statue over.
CRASH!

“Miles!” Meredith walked in, carrying a burlap sack.
“Yes, dear.”
“Promise not to be mad. I might have shattered our dungeon’s protector.”
She poured the content of the sack onto the coroner’s table. All of Olga’s bodyparts were there. Her head leered at Meredith.
“You’ll pay for this.”
“Can you stitch her up?" Meredith asked, "As quick as possible? We never know when another champion shows up.”
Miles afforded her a smile, straightening his gloves, “Oh, I’m sure I can manage. Getting the head turned the right way will be the tricky part...”
Meredith laughed, “Oh, don’t worry. I’m sure no one will notice.”
Olga growled.

The End!
