Chapter 7 by abbas101 abbas101

What does 'Ursa' respond?

Ozai cuts in.

As 'Ursa' finished speaking, Ozai erupted into hysterical laughter, the sound echoing through the throne room like a discordant melody. His reaction was as much from shock as it was from amusement. The idea of his wife, whom he had always seen as meek and submissive, challenging him to an Agni Kai was utterly ridiculous in his eyes.

Azulon's expression darkened, his brows furrowing as he regarded his son with growing anger. "Silence, Ozai!" he barked, his voice echoing like thunder. "You will show respect in my presence."

Ozai's laughter choked off abruptly, but his eyes still gleamed with mockery as he looked at 'Ursa'. "This is absurd," he sneered. "You barely know how to bend, let alone fight. What makes you think you can best me in an Agni Kai?"

Vaatu, controlling Ursa's body, did not even deign to look at Ozai. His gaze remained fixed on Azulon, his expression one of cool indifference. This blatant disregard only served to infuriate Ozai further. He took a step forward, his hands clenching into fists, but before he could act on his anger, the flames in the throne room surged, growing larger and hotter.

Azulon's voice was a low growl, a sound that promised destruction. "You dare to disrespect your wife and act like a petulant child in my presence, Ozai? I will not have it. One more outburst from you, and I will destroy you where you stand."

Ozai paled, taking a step back. His eyes still burned with hatred, but he wisely held his tongue. Vaatu, smirking at Ozai's retreat, turned his attention back to Azulon.

The Fire Lord, his patience worn thin, snapped, "Enough of this nonsense. State your time and place, Ursa, and then get out of my sight."

Vaatu's smirk widened, a chilling sight that promised chaos and destruction. "In three days," he said, Ursa's voice echoing through the throne room. "In front of the entire caldera. Let the people witness the consequences of defying the natural order."

With that, Vaatu turned and sauntered out of the throne room, not even waiting to be dismissed. The guards at the door took one look at the unhinged grin on 'Ursa's' face and nervously stepped aside, their spears trembling slightly in their grasp.

As Vaatu walked back to Ursa's chambers, he could feel the woman's consciousness stirring, trying to regain control of her body. He suppressed her attempts, frustrated at his lack of power, but her struggles grew more insistent with each passing moment. By the time he reached her quarters and closed the door behind him, Ursa's efforts had grown too strong to ignore.

Vaatu relinquished control, and Ursa stumbled, her body suddenly her own again. She gasped, her hand flying to her head as a wave of dizziness washed over her. The last thing she remembered was her deal with Vaatu, the dark spirit's promise of power and change. She groaned, her body aching as if she had been put through a grueling ordeal.

Flashes of memory assaulted her - the throne room, Azulon, Ozai, the Agni Kai. She gasped again, her eyes widening in shock. What had she done? What had Vaatu done using her body?

She tried to stand, to make sense of the chaotic memories, but her body betrayed her. Her legs buckled, and she collapsed, her vision swimming. The last thing she saw before darkness claimed her was the cold, malevolent smile of Vaatu, echoing in her mind like a haunting promise.

What she didn't realize however...

Was that the same smile was reflected on her face too.

What happens next?
