One of their friends has just arrived.

"Lady Catarina," said a maid, barrelling through the bedroom door. "One of your friends... err..."

She forgot what she was about to say for a moment when she noticed Catarina had Maria sitting in her lap. Her cheeks were blushing red as Maria led a muffin to her mouth. Catarina was confused why Maria wanted to feed her like this, but she could tell that it made Maria very happy to do it. And besides, she could never say no to Maria's sweets.

Anne simply stood to the side, waiting for anything Catarina might need. While Maria was dependable, her affections toward Catarina would sometimes distract her from her duties, even after all these years.

"M-My apologies for interrupting, my Lady, but you have a visitor."

"Muh vhishitor?" Catarina swallowed. "Really? Who?"

She gently put Maria to her feet before getting up herself before hiking up her skirt, and power walking out the door.

Maria looked a little disappointed, knowing that her special alone time with Catarina had officially come to an end.
