One Target, Two Women

The hot sun beat down upon Outworld's Market Place, like it typically does. Canopy shops and sandstone buildings littered the area as people attempted to make a living under the tyrannical rule of the Kahn. There were even people slaving away in the hot sun in order to build a statue of Kahn. It may seem different, but that was just life for some in Outworld; it had its own form of peace, to an extent. Though the calm was soon broken when a man in a black tank top and blue denim jeans shoulder-checked a woman in grey robes as he rushed through the market place, "Move!" the out-of-place man shouted as he pushed the woman to the ground as he continued to sprint. The man glanced down at his hand; it was a black, metallic case of some kind. Despite running for his life, the case remained undisturbed, as indicated by the fact that the case was still closed and the lights on it were still blinking. After having made sure the case was still in good condition, the man wiped his head around as he ran forward, looking to see if he was being followed.

At first, it seemed like he was in the clear, but soon he noticed something move across the sandstone building that he was under. The man barely had any time to react before a cyan blur dropped down next to him and decked him in the face, knocking him out cold. The man dropped the case onto the sandy ground as he himself fell down. The man's attacker rolled across the ground to soften their fall before coming to a stop and standing up. The culprit behind the man's **** was a woman covered head to toe in cyan armour. Her amour had gaps in it to allow her body to have a full range of motion, between the gaps was a black body suit which also acted as a third layer of protection for the user's body. The woman wiped the sand that had stuck to her helmet off her visor. A small, blue holographic projection of a man holding a sniper rifle and wearing similar armour to the woman but with a different helmet appeared over her shoulder and began to speak, "Sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets every-"

"Stop." The woman quickly interrupted, not wanting to hear the rest of her friend's joke.

"Oh, come on. Lighten up a bit, C!" The hologram complained in a joking manner.

"Just tell me if the case is stable, Church." The cyan-armoured woman asserted. Without any further comments, Church tossed his sniper rifle up slightly, causing it to dematerialize, before disappearing himself. And just as fast as he disappeared, Church reappeared.

"Yup, stability is at 98% and holding." Church reported, resummoning his sniper rifle from thin air. "But we may want to get a move on; the case can only do so much to protect the chip from the heat." The hologram added.

"Sure it's not because of all the attention we're drawing." The woman commented as she looked around. The locals had been watching from afar; having lived under tyrannical rule, many were hesitant to intervene for fear of getting into trouble; nonetheless, they watched on, all eyes on the duo.

The Church shrugged his shoulders, "Hey, if you want to wait around and celebrate, be my quest." He joked before chuckling to himself, "Agent Carolina celebrating. Yeah, that'll be the day."

Carolina began to approach the case, bending over to pick it up. "I might just take you up on that idea," the freelancer mused to herself. "We've been tracking this guy for ages now. I almost thought we'd never get him. Almost."

Before Church could get another word in, the duo froze when they heard the clicking of two guns right behind them. Carolina quickly turned around to face their adversary, "Uh-Uh, stay still." It was a blonde woman with a pigtail wearing sunglasses and wielding two pistols, which she pointed further forward to emphasize her point. Carolina stopped mid-motion, though she was still able to face the woman. She didn't seem like she was an ally to the man, as indicated by her green, white, and grey military bodysuit, though she could never know for sure unless she asked.

"Church!" Carolina called out to her companion in annoyance.

The A.I floated closer to Carolina, his rifle disappearing as he threw his arms into the air. "What?! I'm not omniscient! Was I supposed to predict a third-party intervention?" Church whined

"Just tell me if she's a friend of his." Carolina motioned to the man on the ground.

Church faced the woman for a second and blinked white for a second before making a noise of mock laughter. "Nope, not on any databases for Black Dragon. She's Special Forces, Cassandra Carlton Cage." Church began to explain. "I can get you more details, but I think we've got more pressing concerns right now."

"What do you need, Cage?" Carolina asked the woman holding her.

Cassie kept one gun forward as she raised a hand to the communicator in her ear and began to speak to someone on the other line, "General, I've encountered some obstacles in the extraction." Cassie began to speak before waiting for a response. "Yeah, there's nothing that I can't handle; I just want your opinion on it. I've got a woman in high-tech armour and a little blue man on her shoulder." Cassie began to report before going silent once more. "Alright, will do. Stay safe, mom." Cassie said her goodbyes, let go of her communicator, and held the other gun out once more.

While her mom was out dealing with an infiltration mission of a Black Dragon base in Russia, Cassie was in charge of dealing with taking care of any that went into or tried to leave outworld. Cassie's goal was simple, bring in the Black Dragon member for interrogation and take the merchandise he was traveling with. Unless they chose to be, these two were not a problem. Either they comply, or she brings them in as well. "You've got two options: move the hell out of the way or put my foot up your ass." Cassie stated, causing Church and Carolina to give each other a look. "Sorry, I don't make the rules." the commander mock-apologized.

"Whoa there, bitch! You can have the shitstain on the ground, but the case is ours." Church protested while floating forward.

"Bitch?" Cassie asked insulted by the A.I comment

"Yeah? Oh, I'm sorry! You're the one with the guns pointed at us! What the hell did you want me to do? Roll out the red carpet for Madam Shades!" Church began to make a fuss, to which Cassie responded with a shot from her pistol, which did little to his holographic body, merely passing through it. The loud bang that came caused some onlookers to yelp in surprise. "Real mature. dipshit." The A.I further antagonized.

Cassie glared at the hologram before something caught her attention. He stated that she had wanted both the man and the case, which Cassie had yet to state that she wanted. Cassie supposed that it was her actions that indicated her goals to them, but the way he had confidently said that, it didn't feel like some educated guess. "Were you listening in on my conversation?" Cassie demanded an answer.

"Wonderful negation skills, Church." Carolina teased her friend, who flipped her the bird without look back in retaliation. Cassie furrowed her brows at the duo; now she just wanted to kick their asses for the fun of it. "It looks like we've both made up our minds." The freelancer cocked her head as she straightened her body out, finally moving after being told not to.

"Guess so." Cassie muttered as her fingers began to pull down on each trigger.
