On the Way to Whole Cake Island

The Straw Hat Pirates, in preparation to take down Kaido in Wano, had split in 2 groups. While one half would go straight to Wano, the other half, along with a few Minks, decided to go to Whole Cake Island where Big Mom was in order to get Sanji back who was arranged to be wed to one of Big Mom's daughters. As Luffy and the others left Zou, he decided to grab everyone who was leaving and jump straight all th edown to where the Thousand Sunny was. After they all got their bearings from the big fall, they were all pretty upset with Luffy.

After they were travelling some the crew all got hungry and wondered who was going to cook since Sanji wasn't with them. Nami initially volunteered, but mentioned that she would charge them.

"No way, Nami. I'll cook instead," said Luffy.

Nami looked at Luffy, still upset with what he had done earlier, and replied, "Are you serious? Do you even know how to cook? You'll just waste all the food we got at Zou!"

"Well it's better than you charging us to eat. If no one else will cook, then I will."

"I'll allow you to cook Luffy on a couple conditions. The first is that I will be in the kitchen to observe you. And the second is that should I find you are over your head, I'll take over the cooking. I won't charge anyone any money for doing so, but for you Luffy, you'll be punished in a way that will make you wish you had been charged money instead."

"W-what kind of punishment?" asked Luffy as he got a chill down his back, afraid of what Nami wold do it him if she determined he couldn't cook.

"You don't have to worry if you can cook well enough, Luffy. So it is a deal?"
