Where do we find Ada?
On the Run
Heels clacked down the hall at a rapid pace, followed by the rapid skittering of claws! Just listening to this, you might assume that Ada was being chased by a dog. There certainly were enough hounds stalking the halls of the fallen RPD building. But instead, she was being relentlessly chased by--
God, she didn't even know what to call it.
Skinless. Eyeless. An abomination that could cling to the walls and ceiling. It could slash through metal like butter, or lash its tail out like a whip! As if the horde of shambling zombies and nonsensical architecture of this police station weren't bad enough.
Ada reloaded her gun and fired. Even while running, she was a good shot! But if she hit this thing, it didn't give any indication. It screeched a horrible screech, then leapt at the fleeing mercenary! Ada lept as well. Skidding across the tile floor, narrowly avoiding those deadly claws.
"Note to self-- Avoid this hallway." Ada breathed.
Thankfully, escape was in sight. She forced her aching legs to move, dashing for the security gate ahead of her! With less finesse than she might've liked, she began crawling through the small opening left by the gate. As slender as she was, even she seemed to be struggling to fit through the gap--
That is, until the Licker shot its tongue out in one last attempt to kill her.
"Ow!"
It felt less like a tongue, and more like a paddle as the massive thing collided with her raised ass Thankfully, this was enough to send her through the security gate. With a groan, she slammed the shutter shut, and leaned against the wall.
God. She was usually a lot... Cooler than that.
Clad in a little red cocktail dress, that was currently filthy, she wasn't exactly as protected as the rookie cop running around. She rubbed her still stinging butt cheek as she slowly entered a new area of the police station.
It'd been non-stop fighting and running since she got here...
