Reginald dropped John off at his front door, John thanked the butler, and made his way inside. He was not surprised by what he saw. The living room was empty, as was the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge stating there was dinner in the fridge that he could heat up in the microwave. John sighed as he opened the fridge to take out the dinner, put it on a plate, and heat it up in the microwave.

“I’m not surprised she isn't still up, it is past 11,” John said to himself while he waited for the food to finish being reheated. Once it was reheated, John sat and ate his dinner quietly in the kitchen, not wanting to wake his slumbering mother. Once finished, he went to his room to sleep after a hard day’s work.

John awoke the next day to his normal alarm. He groggily reached over to his phone to turn off the alarm. He got up and begun his normal routine for school. “Uh I was planning on trying out grinding in some barriers,” John told the paladin.

“Oh, well perhaps I can join you, for assistance in case you end up over your head,” Moira suggested, with a stern look on her face.

“Uh yeah, I suppose. Although the ability says it will create enemies based on the average level of the party. So they’ll be a little tough for me but easy or normal for you,” explained John.

“Ok, that sounds fine. As long as you don’t go dying again, we should be fine.”

“If I recall, that’s because you got angry and bashed me with some OP move.”

“Yes, well, you fought dirty!” exclaimed Moira, “Now here is my phone number. Let me know when you are going to train and I’ll meet you wherever you are at,” after she finished speaking Moira abruptly turned and marched through the front doors.

“Just wait Moira. Once I’m stronger…” John mumbled as he too walked into the Academy. He headed to his first class of the day, Business. It was not one of John’s favorite classes. While the idea of the class itself was fine, the teacher Mr. Oliveira was not the most inspiring of teachers. After all, can you really trust the skills of a failed businessman? If he was successful then he’d be the CEO of some company or guest lecturing at a college or university, not teaching at a Prep Academy. John then noticed a new pop up once he got his book for class.

This instantly learning new things and getting them in ability form was rather useful. The rest of the class was uneventful as John contemplated how he could best use his new ability. Once class was over, John got up and headed to Chemistry class.
