Nothing can go wrong!

“Ugh…I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that feeling.” Nausea kicked in as I opened my eyes, there’s something about teleportation that I’m more sensitive to than other people.

“Are you alright, Jasper? Would you like me to cast a recovery spell?” Esther looked at me with a slight concern. Her hair dangled out from the side of her veil, her torso at an angle, leaning towards me.

“No, I’m fine, save your mana.” I take a couple of deep breaths, trying to ground myself again. Even though there wasn’t any traps when the other party examined, it doesn’t mean we’re completely safe. “We should keep our guards up just in case. I’m fine now, let’s go”

I take one final deep breath before standing up straight, looking at the solo metal door in front of me, standing innocuously. Symmetrical carvings covered the door, forming patterns that I’ve never seen before. There’s a certain artistic charm to it, like looking at an old mandala, I don't know exactly what the symbols mean, but staring at them gave me a sense of serenity.

I walked closer to the door, my right arm extended forward intending to open it, but as I felt the cold hard metal on my finger tips, the door shook and lilac smoke started flooding out from all sides of the door giving it a formless mane.

"DON'T BREATH IN THE SMOKE!" I swung my forearm up to my nose and mouth in hopes that my clothes would act as a filter.

*Thump*

I looked behind me hoping that my assumption was wrong, but Esther was on the ground, her eyes closed shut.

What do I do? I don’t have an escape stone so I can’t get us out, and if I grab her right now I’d probably faint too.

As my mind worked overtime, trying to find an out, the world started to blur, the clear lines that separated everything from each other swirled together, like the murky water painters clean their paint brush in. Then feeling the impact from my head hitting the ground, the world turned dark.
