An ominous hallway of bricks and mist.

“-per, Jasper, wake up!”

My body was being rocked back and forth, the sensation agitating to say the least. I open my eyes to see where the rocking came from, then–

“Thank god!” Esther pounced onto my arms, seemingly bear hugging me as hard as she could, her eyes teary and full of relief.

“Esther’? Where are we?” I held my palm up to comfort my forehead, the pulsing headache hit me harder than whenever I’ve teleported.

“I think we’re in the dungeon….” Esther looked around, around us was a hallway laced with dark wine-colored bricks, gentle mist flowed on the surface of the floor. Something tells me that it’s the same smoke, but it was a lot thinner here.

“I think our only option is to keep moving until we have to make another decision.” Usually, if a teleportation trap was activated, a magical circle would be burned into the ground beneath our feet, but there was nothing on the maroon floor. “Who knows when we’re going to get help.”

“Okay…” Esther helped me stand up, the world around me still spinning a bit, but a lot better than when I just woke up.

As we walked, doors started appearing every so often with torches beside them. Esther I each took a torch, leaving the doors alone. Without knowing what could be on the other side, we agreed that it was too risky to open them.

After a while, I could feel myself slowly lose it, it’s the same endless hallway, the same bricks, the same smoke.

“Hey Jasper, look.” Esther pointed at a door on our right with two missing torches beside it, “I think we’ve passed this door before!”

We’ve been walking in a loop! I have no idea how long the loop is, nor do I want to keep walking to figure that out, so I guess we have one option.

“From now on, let’s start opening the doors, there doesn’t seem to be much else we can do right now.”
