Not right now

He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. “This is crazy,” he muttered, closing out of the app and setting his phone down. The app had done something—he wasn’t sure what—but it was enough to make him uneasy.

He leaned back in his chair, his mind racing with possibilities. What did this app actually do? And what would happen if he used it? The questions gnawed at him, but for now, all he could do was try to process what had just happened.

The image of his mom’s profile on the app stayed with him, the empty text field taunting him with its possibilities. And even though he knew it was wrong, part of him couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if he tried it out—just to see if it really worked.
