“Here, no need to get up.” Your sister hands over your breakfast with sad puppy eyes.

Breathing in the smells of a hot meal, you genuinely thank her. She’s definitely taking your deal seriously and not half-assing anything. Between the steam in your face and the living room’s typical greenhouse effect, you regrettably need to throw off the blanket to avoid getting drenched, leaving only your tank top and pajama shorts.

Hannah steps closer, after retrieving her fruit bowl. “Alright if I– oh…” She stops mid-sentence to stare at your chest, a blush staining her face. Her eyes flick up and when they meet yours, she turns away with tense shoulders. “Sorry. Is it okay if I sit with you?” she asks. You gesture that the space is open rather than respond verbally. You don’t want to accidentally say something that would give away your intentions when hers are still unclear.

“I was thinking…” she hesitantly begins after sitting down, “maybe we could try to have some normal sister time? Put something on and have breakfast together?” It’s a bit weird seeing your sister flip from staring at you to avoiding even looking in your general direction. If she keeps this up, you might tell her to relax a little, but for now you’re just going to appreciate the reprieve from her usual patterns.

“Fine” you answer, “but for that stare, I pick what we’re watching.” You grab the TV remote off the coffee table and stream one of your favorite harem shows.

It’s nice having a bit of normalcy trickle back into your relationship with Hannah, even if it took a day of emotional **** to get here. All you ever wanted was a sister you could also consider your friend. When you and Hannah were little, you would keep each other up all night in your shared bedroom, only stopping your collaborative storytime when one of you got too excited and accidentally summoned your mother. You miss being friends with Hannah. Maybe one day you could even be girlfriends.

Your sister averts her gaze from a scene of surprise groping played for comedy. You could almost mistake it for childish embarrassment, if not for the fact that she has once again chosen your body to stare at instead. “Can I help you?”

“Fuck! Sorry.” She looks away, covering her eyes with one hand. “We can keep watching, and I’ll… Drive you to school on Monday?”

“I decide what the favors are,” you chide her, “but sure.”

Turning your attention back to the TV, you forgot this is the episode where harem stuff starts happening between the protagonist and his little sister. Their dynamic is the lecherous one whose POV leads to a lot of panty shots and male-gazey pans, and the innocent one who’s constantly rubbing up against him and unknowingly titillating him.

You were kind of worried that you’d never be able to have a comfortable sibling moment with your sister again, and this shit isn’t helping. Thankfully Hannah’s behavior this morning has left you reassured that your deal is working as well as it reasonably can.
