Chapter 2 by Wikia Wikia

Who are you?

Monty, a 25 year-old who didn't think things through.

When Monty took the opportunity to move himself to a space colony on the moon, he figured the gravity would be lighter than he was used to. People told him that gravity was lighter on the moon. The opposite was true, the artificial gravity on the entire facility making him at least ten pounds heavier. His body was heavier than he was accustomed to and he couldn't even stand up. He either needed to hold on to something for his legs to support themselves, or he had to crawl on all fours, or he had to be carried by his robot handlers or whatever vehicle said robots put him in.

When he needed to potty, it felt like a bowling ball sat in his lower tummy. When he made poopy, it felt like he had to drag a bowling ball around in his underwear. Thankfully, modern technology made the tapes of his diaper extra-strong. He was trapped in the damn thing until one of his robot caretakers tore it off just so they could change him into a new, unused diaper.

That was another thing: no one told him there was more than one colony. Dozens and dozens of populations underneath their own geodescent domes with their own cultures and way of doing things. They were like their own sovereign nations, some the size of whole countries, others very large cities, even a few that stretched out for only a few acres.

No one told this to Monty, and he was too excited to live out a science fiction fantasy to realize that the colony he had unwittingly immigrated to was Obasaan, a space colony where all of its human inhabitants were waited on hand and foot by robot servants, robot workers, and robot nannies. They were fed, clothed, bathed and entertained, because all humans who lived in Obasaan were treated like babies.

And Monty -- stupid, stupid Monty -- didn't think to read the documents that would sign away all of his human rights. By signing these papers, he was no longer legally an adult. Humans, no matter their age, were babies on Obasaan.

They were waited on hand and foot by machines just like in his fantasy.

Because babies couldn't take care of themselves.

What happens?
