Making Things Right

Having just finished watching the Petersen curse documentary, Liam decided he was due some happiness in his life and that so many of his problems could be resolved simply by claiming a beautiful woman as his own. He didn't really see any moral issues with it. The film already had millions of views, the list of curse carrying women was out in the public domain and there were already thriving online communities forming that were dedicated to identifying and claiming every woman out there with Petersen blood.

The simple fact was that all of those women were going to find themselves with masters before long. And who knew how unscrupulous and perverted some of those masters would be, given the complete and unchecked powers they would be given over the women they claimed. But Liam had no such plans for his future wife. All he wanted was a beautiful; woman who he could love, spoil, provide for and who could be a loving mother for his daughter Ashley.

He was pleasantly surprised when he looked at the master list to see that he had plenty of options. Canada had the third highest number of curse carriers on the planet after the US and UK, and there were eight listed in Ottawa. Of those, two had already been marked as claimed, which left him half a dozen to choose from. Three of those were no more than names and ages, but the other three had links to social media profiles. On clicking those links, there was no question that all of the trio were beautiful, but the oldest of them was 22. Liam was 35, and Ashley herself was eleven. He just wasn't sure any of them were quite the right fit for what he was looking for. He therefore extended his search to Toronto, where there were nearly fifty cursed women. And that is where he was shocked to find Donna's name.

Donna had been Liam's childhood sweetheart and the only woman he had ever loved. They had married in their early twenties, had Ashley a couple of years later, and Liam had thought he was living a perfect life for a while. Donna had always been a stunning woman, and the jokes Liam's buddies used to make about her being out of his league and coming to her senses and leaving him one day were intended as friendly banter, but left him feeling quite insecure about his relationship. That perception also led to a relationship dynamic where Donna had always had something of the upper hand, with Liam knowing he had far more to lose than she did if they ever split and almost acting grateful to be with her at times, as well as quickly becoming jealous of any male friendships she made. Those were not attractive traits.

His worst fears had come to pass around three years earlier. She had become friendly with a colleague from the Toronto branch of her company named Andy. He was rich, handsome, confident and a total dick. Liam had hated him almost instantly, and his instincts hadn't been off. What began as an emotional affair quickly turned into a physical one, and Andy showed no remorse whatsoever in stealing Donna away from her husband and daughter. The consolation was that there had never been any question Liam would retain custody of Ashley. She had always been a Daddy's girl and Andy, apparently, didn't have any interest in raising a child. Times had been tough, but Liam had just about been able to hold things together for the sake of his daughter, and he had finally felt ready to move on from Donna.

Until he saw her name on the list.

Liam had known Donna since childhood, and she had never had the name Petersen. Nor, as far as he was aware, did any of her immediate relatives. But of all the women on the list, perhaps less than ten per cent were actually named Petersen. And she was there under her maiden name - Donna Woodford, age 35, Toronto ON. It had to be her. And it seemed she was so far unclaimed. With great excitement, Liam picked up his phone and dialled her number.

"I thought we agreed you were going to stop calling me without texting first" she answered by way of a greeting.

"I don't want to block your number, but I will if you **** me to"

"No, wait, hear me out" Liam spoke quickly "I have something important to tell you"

"What?" Donna asked impatiently. Liam had tried this kind of approach in the past before begging her to come back to him.

"I know about your curse"

"Curse? What are you talking about?"

"Donna, I know about your curse and I claim you"

There was silence on the other end of the line.

"Donna, you are going to tell Andy that you are leaving him because he is a pencil dicked loser who could never sexually satisfy you and that you hope he dies alone, that the biggest mistake you ever made was leaving your husband and that you are going back to him. You are then going to pack up your stuff and come to my place in Ottawa. And if Andy gives you any trouble, you will find you have expert skills in karate, but only to be used against him. Got that?"

There was another pause before Donna spoke again.

"Yes, I'm going to do it now. I'll see you later"

Liam could hardly believe this was happening as he put down the phone and Ashley walked into the room.

"Is everything alright Dad?"

"Everything is fine, precious" he smiled with delight "Mommy is coming back. And things are going to be very different this time around"
