Lilly the Brave

Luke was pulled along by Rebecca.

But as he walked he kept an eye out for trouble. The addition of a woman running from her boyfriend had complicated their plans.

"What is your name?" Luke asked looking down at their new companion.

"Lilly," the young woman said.

"My name is Luke, and my sexy partner in the suit is Rebecca," Luke said pointing to his boss.

"Lilly, please stay close and pretend I am your boyfriend or close relative. Because any man with a 'Breeding Pass' can still claim your womb." Luke said scanning the crowds as they walked.

"My womb?" Lilly said confused.

"Sure, haven't you read the description of a 'Breeding Pass' yet" Luke looked down.

"Well, in any case, you're future is in question. Don't go running off alone. You might just end up knocked up by some creep." Luke said seriously.

As Luke talked to Lilly, He concluded that she was of Native American descent. Her brown skin was beautiful, while her long straight black hair was tied into braids with feathers. She was quite pretty.

"Lilly, today at the Sunny Day Mall, sorcerers are handing out magical cards that **** people to make babies," Luke said looking back at the crowds.

"It sounds crazy, but try to believe me. If you want to avoid getting pregnant. Stay close to me until you leave the Mall entirely." Luke said softly.

Lilly didn't believe a word of what Luke was saying. But she did believe something was going on. Her boyfriend/ex-boyfriend had acted irrationally. He just started kissing that woman out of nowhere.

"We are almost there," Rebecca said as the mall exit came into view.

The group made it out of the Sunny Day Mall South Exit. The summer sun showed low but bright in the evening sky.

"Feels good to see the sun," Luke said letting out a long sigh.

"Keep your guard up. Let's assume the 'Breeding Passes' are usable in the parking lots," Rebecca said poking Luke's arm.

"Alright ... So where is Tai and her Mini-bus?" Luke said looking across the parking lot.

The group continued walking south onto the blacktop.

"There it is! And it's only 5 after the hour. " Rebecca shouted.

Luke, Rebecca, and Lilly made their way across the parking lot towards the mini-bus.

"So Lilly, do you have any way of making it home?" Rebecca asked now relaxed after seeing Tai's bus.

"Oh, I called my mother as I ran from my boyfriend, I mean ex-boyfriend. She has my phone's GPS and is coming to pick me up." Lilly said scanning the parking lot.

As the group approached the mini-bus, a tall Filipino woman stepped out.

"Rebecca is that you. What took you so long." the new woman shouted across the blacktop.

"She must be Tai, Rebecca's Yoga instructor," Luke whispered to Lilly.

Luke and Lilly watched as Rebecca made small talk for a good minute.

"Oh forgive my manners. This is Luke and Lilly. Luke is my inventory manager at the store. While Lilly is a new friend we made on our way here." Rebecca said gesturing to them.

"Dam Rebecca you never told me you hired a male model for your clothing store," Tai said eyeing Luke.

"Nice to meet you both. I am Tai your humble traveling yoga instructor." Tai said before giving a bow.

"The pleasure is mine," Luke said eying Tai's fit body.

"Hi," Lilly said nervously.

A moment passed as no one spoke.

"So, where is Amber? She said she would be here," Rebecca said breaking the silence.

"She got here 20 minutes ago. She is sleeping in the back. Why did you ask her to drive here again? You do realize she just came off her shift at the hospital" Tai said raising an eyebrow.

"Let's go talk about it," Rebecca said patting Tai's shoulder.

"Luke would you please keep Lilly company as she waits for her mother. I am going to go talk with Tai and Amber." Rebecca said before giving Luke a wink.

"Sure I guess. The bus would be crowded with 5 people, by the looks of it." Luke said resigning himself to stay in the heat.

"If they are going to wait outside, take these," Tai said handing Luke and Lilly collapsible chairs.

"If your thirsty please grab water from the icebox," Tai said pointing to the cooler in the shade of her bus.

Tai and Rebecca got into the mini-bus and close the door behind them.

"Dam, I am beat," Luke said opening his folding chair.

"You have a long day?" Lilly said nervously looking back toward the mall.

"You could say that again," Luke said sitting down with a long sigh.

"Lilly! Stop shaking, calm yourself," Luke said eyeing the young woman.

"Sorry, I am still frightened by my boyfriend's change in character. He was always so kind and loyal. It made no sense that he would suddenly proclaim he was going to knock me up and then proceed to make out with some stranger." Lilly said shaking.

"Here take a seat. No sense worrying about it now. Just breathe, it's okay. You're safe." Luke said with a smile.

"Don't fret over people's odd behaviors today. The 'Breeding Passes' have caused a mess of things. You did say your ex-boyfriend handed a woman a card instead of you?" Luke said looking back at the Sunny Day Mall.
