Letting Go

Over the next couple of weeks, for the first time there is a palpable tension in the penthouse. "Look, there is something you can do that will cause some short term pain but will be the best thing for everyone in the long term" Smart continues, adopting a more sympathetic tone "It's not her fault at all. But Loyal really isn't a good fit for what we are doing here. She's holding everything, including you, back. And you are holding her back too"

"She is a beautiful and loving young woman who most guys would kill to be with. But you are holding onto her while also making her feel second best to another girl she knows full well you have stronger feelings for And you have prevented her from ever being able to move onto anyone else"

"You know I have made it a firm rule never to alter any of your personalities" you remind her.

"Only being interested in you isn't part of her personality, it's a restriction you've placed on her. Removing it would allow her to get on with her life and be happy. We can then bring in another money maker to replace her here, which will mean Pichichi can stay with you and not have to move to the other side of the world for the wage bump we would need her to get."

"We've been using Loyal as the template for the other Maisie's" you point out.
