Leaf

Today was going to be the first day of the rest of her life. Leaf had just received her first Pokémon from Professor Oak, a small and cute Bulbasaur that she absolutely loved. With the Pokéball in hand she made her way to Viridian City, ready to pick up a package meant for Professor Oak.

Tall grass was always a pain to go through, as it always felt like there was a Pokémon hiding under your foot each step. This effect only seemed to be compounded in recent day, as news reports have been talking about an overpopulation of wild Pokémon in most routes. This just made an already annoying trek much more annoying, and now there were double the number of bugs and rodents everywhere.

But this was the start of her Pokémon journey, Leaf didn't want it to be negative. She just had to look at it positively, it'd probably be easier to catch a Pikachu or Eevee in these conditions. Her team of cute Pokémon was just a feet moments away, she was sure of it.

"Hello," Leaf said as she entered the Mart. "I'm here to deliver a package to a Mr. Samuel Oak."

"That's perfect," the mart employee said, bring out a small brown envelope. "We have this here for him, please be sure to deliver it safely."

"Thank you." Leaf took the envelope and turned to leave, only to find herself tripping over her own foot.

A crowd of people came to help her up, but Leaf was more surprised than anything. She felt perfectly fine just seconds ago, why was everything suddenly feeling so dizzying? Why was her vision blurring so much and why did her body feel hot?

The other people in the Poké Mart watched in shock as she seemed to widen and spread, shredding her clothes as she seemingly split and duplicated.
