Law is speechless
“Umm…,” Law started, but before he could gather his thoughts and give a response, chaos erupted in the room. Nami, who had overheard Sanji's request, had apparently had enough. Law heard an angry exclamation of “That’s enough of you, idiot!” followed by an empty beer glass and a plate full of food flying through the air and striking Sanji right on the head. It was a clear sign that the orange-haired navigator was not at all pleased with the idea of another body swap.
Sensing this as an opportunity to start a food war, the mischievous crew members joined in the fray. Plates of food and beverages were sent flying in all directions, creating a chaotic battlefield of edibles. Laughter and shouts filled the room as the crew members unleashed their playful fury on one another, much to the dismay of Sanji, who detested the idea of wasting food.
"Stop it, you idiots! Do you know how much effort goes into preparing these dishes?" Sanji shouted, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. The food war raged on, with crew members taking sides and launching their food-based attacks. As the food war raged on, Law watched the spectacle unfold with a mixture of bemusement and annoyance. He had thought to form an alliance with Straw Hat Pirates because undoubtedly they had taken down some of the world’s most powerful foes – pirates and government agents alike, but their childlike and oblivious nature frustrated him. No one would have thought that the captain of this pirate crew is worth 400 million berry, much like Law’s own bounty before he became a Warlord and got his bounty frozen. In the midst of the chaos, Law quietly slipped out the back door, feeling increasingly disconnected from the crew's light-hearted antics. To him, the Straw Hat Pirates' happy-go-lucky attitude was baffling, especially given the constant dangers they faced in the New World.
With a sigh of relief, Law finally reached the quiet solitude of his quarters. He closed the door behind him, shutting out the laughter and shouts that still echoed from the dining area. The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of a lantern casting a warm, golden light. Law removed his coat and hat, tossing them onto a nearby chair. He walked over to his bed and lay down, staring up at the wooden ceiling above. The events of the evening replayed in his mind, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment from the crew. As he tried to get some much-needed rest, Law couldn't escape the lingering annoyance that had settled in his chest. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate how carefree and relaxed they were, but he had grown accustomed to a different way of life—a life where every decision and action held significant consequences. That was how he managed to become a captain, and a Warlord in the first place.
Closing his eyes, Law tried to push away the frustration and let sleep claim him. But then, he remembered the conversation he just had with Sanji and Zoro.
So, Law, what's your taste in women? Come on now, don't be shy.
The question Sanji had posed about his taste in women echoed in his mind. It was an inquiry he had never heard from his own crew, perhaps because they all had their own pasts and experiences to contend with, and such discussions rarely came up. But now that Sanji had asked, Law couldn't help but mull it over.
As he lay there, he realized that he had never truly taken the time to think about his preferences when it came to matters of the heart. The life he had chosen as the captain of the Heart Pirates and as a Warlord of the Sea had left little room for personal contemplation. Every decision he made was weighed against the backdrop of survival and strategy.
But now, with the lingering effects of **** and the camaraderie of the Straw Hat Pirates still fresh in his mind, Law found himself reflecting on his taste in women. It wasn't something he had actively sought out or even acknowledged, yet there was a pattern emerging in his thoughts.
He couldn't deny that there was something about Nico Robin that had always intrigued him. Beyond her striking beauty, there was a depth to her character that spoke to him. She was a mature, powerful woman who could stand her own ground, and there was an air of mystery about her that drew him in. Perhaps it was the fact that she was the last survivor of the Ohara Clan, much like himself, the sole survivor of his hometown. That shared experience created a connection, a common thread that linked their pasts.
As Law continued to contemplate in the quiet of his quarters, he couldn't help but acknowledge that his taste in women seemed to align with the enigmatic and powerful nature of someone like Nico Robin. It was a realization that, for the first time in a long while, allowed him to glimpse a more personal aspect of himself, separate from the life of a pirate and a captain.
