Lauren wakes up

Lauren slowly opened her eyes, before abruptly closing them again. God, her head hurt! She’d definitely had way too much to drink last night. At least she’d apparently managed to get to bed before she passed out. She pulled the blanket around her tighter, ready to get some more sleep.

Huh. This didn’t feel like her blanket. And had she fallen asleep with her pants on? Her eyes still closed, Lauren attempted to squirm out of them. They felt a lot bulkier than normal, and they didn’t seem to want to come off. Exasperated, Lauren opened her eyes despite the light coming in through the window.

Only to freeze, looking at her surroundings. This…was definitely not her bed. Not only was it way too small, but there were bars on the side. Instead of her normal bedding, she was covered by only a single pink blanket. And most alarmingly, she was wearing nothing but a diaper!

Lauren jerked up into a sitting position, looking around wildly. It looked like she was in a nursery of some kind, judging by the cribs around here. But…how had she ended up here? What had she been doing last night?

Straining her sluggish brain to remember, Lauren slowly recalled what had happened. She’d been struck by the urge to go streaking in the park. She’d been playing on playground equipment when she’d managed to get stuck. After being discovered by a security guard who had mistaken her for being a child, she had played along, to not get in legal trouble. After that, he was supposed to bring her home.

For whatever reason, he clearly hadn’t. She didn’t know where she was, but she had to get out of here as soon as possible. If anyone discovered she was an adult now, not only would it destroy her social life, but she could even go to jail! Lauren quickly stood up, preparing to climb out of the crib.

Before she could, however, a woman entered the room. “Good morning!” she said cheerfully. “Time for breakfast, little one.”

“Uh…who are you?” Lauren asked warily. She had no memory of this woman.

“Oh, that’s right! You were sound asleep when Frank dropped you off! My name is Debbie, honey, and I’m going to be looking after you for a while.”

“What?!” Lauren said, frowning. “No, I-I have to get home!”

“That’s probably not a good idea right now, sweetheart,” Debbie said sympathetically. “But don’t you worry! You’re going to have tons of fun here. We’ve got plenty of toys, coloring books, and other things to play with.”

Lauren stared at the woman, confused. Had she been kidnapped? Why had the security guard brought her to this random woman? “Look, I’ve really got to go,” she said a little frantically.

“Oh, don’t worry! I already diapered you, so you can go whenever you like!”

Lauren suppressed the urge to throw something at the woman. “I mean, I don’t even know where this is.”

“Oh!” Debbie said brightly. “You’re at Sunny Smiles Orphanage, honey! I’m afraid the other children aren’t around right now to play with, but they’ll be back in a few days. You’re going to make so many new friends!”

An orphanage?! “I think there’s been a misunderstanding,” Lauren tried to explain. “I have parents. Let me give you my address, and-”

“Anyways!” Debbie said briskly. “I bet you must be pretty hungry! Up we go!” Reaching into the crib, she easily picked Lauren up, carrying her out of the room. “Let's get you something tasty!”
