Ladybug goes for Dark Cupid, Cat Noir saves the civilians.

"That sentimonster is too massive to fight and too heavy to restrain. We need to focus on Dark Cupid," said Ladybug. "I'm going to lead Dark Cupid away. If we take him down, Phalanthus will go with him. You try and get these civilians out of the way."

"This cat was craving a little fish anyway, milady."

Ladybug swung her yoyo a few dozen quick rotations before using it to slingshot herself from a nearby fountain, launching herself way above the villain and his beast. Dark Cupid fired several arrows in the air to try and get her, missing her every time before he took flight after her.

Back on the ground, Phalanthus followed its master's wishes and dragged itself across the ground with its fins, opening its gaping maw to try and swallow the nearest group of people. Right as it takes a bite, it finds its mouth empty of people, the smaller but quicker cat hero rushing in and carrying them all off.

Many of them were strangers, some were people he had come across. They were all limp in his arms and over his shoulders, crying from fear and magic-induced depression to fight him.

Embittered that its prey was taken, Phalanthus began to flop around like a beached salmon, creating tremors in the ground.
