Korra Acts and Strikes First

As both women rapidly approached one another, Korra reeled her fist back, preparing what looked to be a punch aimed toward Rey's face. Despite the Jedi's superior range with her lightsaber, Korra closed the distance faster than Rey did, the Avatar being naturally faster than Rey was when unamplified by the ****. Korra brought her fist forward, causing Rey to hop back slightly to avoid the attack while still staying at a comfortable distance to where Korra would be in range of the blade rather than at the handle or outside of range. Korra's fist stopped short, preventing her from fully committing to the punch, for it was merely a fake-out; her real attack was something that she had better mastery over than hand-to-hand combat, her control over the elements.

While Rey was still in the middle of her evading what she perceived as the oncoming attack, Korra quickly stopped her right foot forward, causing the ground to shift and move forward, causing the rocks jutting out of the ground to ram into Rey. The jedi's eyes fell to the ground and widened upon watching the very ground become Korra's personal weapon. Seconds before the rock slammed into Rey's face, the Jedi Master launched herself backward, amplifying her strength of leap with the ****, managing to put a good distance between her and the Avatar despite only having her right heel making contact with the ground in order to make the leap.

Having successfully evaded Korra's real attack, Rey put her focus on landing properly as she hurtled through the air toward the ground due to her impromptu leap. Performing several somersaults, Rey spun through the air before catching herself with one hand, the other still gripping her ignited lightsaber, and performing a handstand flip onto her feet.

Korra smirked while rubbing the left side of her nose. "He! Guess I shouldn't have expected anything less from a Jedi!" She complimented before enacting her next attack, stomping on the ground with both her feet, ripping the rock below her feet out of the ground and forming them into four boulders. Korra thrust her right fist forward, sending one boulder flying toward Rey. Korra then punched the air again, this time with her opposite hand, once again launching another boulder toward Rey. She then struck the air with both her fists, causing the last two boulders to be launched at the same time.

The first boulder in the series raced toward Rey at a blinding speed, but the Jedi Master was unfazed, simply swinging her yellow lightsaber in a downward motion at the rock, cleaving it in two. The bisected pieces raced past Rey, who then performed an upward slash to cut through the second oncoming boulder. While the first two boulders traveled at a speed that Rey could easily deal with, the two that were launched last two had been propelled forward with a greater amount of ****, meaning that they were traveling at a faster speed. Though, while Rey didn't have time to swing at them, she was nonetheless able to defend herself. Using the ****, Rey brought her arm forward and halted the boulders midflight before launching them back at their user.

Despite her attack being redirected at her, Korra seemed rather unfazed by the two large boulders hurtling toward her, grinning with excitement as she dashed forward and punched both fists into each of the boulders, ceasing their flight as she now wore them over her hands. "You're not getting off that easy!" The Avatar shouted, slamming her fists together to reshape them into what were essentially a pair of stone boxing gloves. Then, using her ability to manipulate the wind around her, Korra blew herself forward.

Taken off guard by the sudden burst in speed, Rey didn't have any time to defend herself, only managing to let out a gasp before being decked in the face by a left hook of solid rock. "And have another!" Korra torqued her body to the right before swinging her opposite fist at the Jedi's abdomen. Rey, slightly disoriented from the previous blow, placed an open palm in between her body and the fist, stopping the blow from reaching its target by just a few millimeters by using the ****.

Rey then clenched her hand shut, crushing the rock around Korra's right hand. Korra watched fragments of rock fall onto the grass below, her right hand now exposed as her boxing glove completely fell apart. The Avatar only had a moment to grit her teeth before being blasted backward by a **** push from Rey. Korra harshly rolled across the grass, her other fist of rock shattering and her left shoe coming off in the process, before coming to a stop.

Korra slowly picked herself up off the ground, her blue eyes locking onto Rey, who was sprinting toward her at full speed, her lightsaber poised to strike. Korra left an annoyed grunt before stomping her now barefoot and thrusting the coinciding fist forward. Rey didn't bat an eye; having seen Korra already perform similar movements earlier, she was more than prepared for more boulders to be thrown at her and for the ground below her to try and attack her, so Rey just kept moving forward. Much to her surprise, it wasn't the Earth that Korra was using to attack her; it was fire. A large stream of fire had burst out of Korra's.

Acting quickly, Rey used the **** to shield herself, dispersing the oncoming stream of fire around her. Only a few embers managed to catch onto the bandages she wore over her clothes, the small flickers of flame slowly eating away at them. Sweat began to race down Rey's skin from both the intense heat and the exertion of pushing away the flame. Her footing starting to loosen as the fire pushed against her **** barrier.
