Who answers the call?

Kitty Pride

"Stay still, you overgrown chicken!" the Invisible Woman shouted as the surprisingly nimble feathered dinosaur roared and leaped onto an actual Oscar Meier Wienermobile. Metal crunched beneath its weight, and people were screaming and running. Sue Storm kept trying to cage the damned thing, but it was fast despite its size, and it kept trying to eat people. As a young woman, Sue had visited a farm and seen a chicken attack a mouse and eat it. She had no doubt that if the chicken was big enough, it would have done the same thing to her.

She needed help. Someone to herd it, or immobilize it, or turn it into the world's biggest set of drumsticks, something. The heroine was on an invisible platform, buzzing the giant dinosaur, trying to get it to follow her out into the open where she had room to trap it properly.

The stupid dino swung its tail at her. The heroine created an invisible wall and let the tail crash against it and bounce off.

"Need some help?"

Sue Storm turned to see a young woman standing in midair. She took in the rich brown hair, the wide eyes, the smooth young face, and trim figure. Today, Kitty Pryde of the X-Men was wearing something that looked like a space pirate's outfit, a big overcoat over tight-fitting pants, boots, and a thin white blouse, cinched tight across the waist with a crimson sash. Her chest, Sue noticed, was barely a rise on the tight shirt. A small purple dragon swooped past her.

"Kitty!" the Invisible Woman said with a smile. "Yes, actually, I would love some help. Been trying to get this guy into an open area so I can trap it."

"Not a problem!" the young mutant said. "Lockheed! Lead her on."

The dragon flew off, zipping around the dinosaur's head. The feathers around the giant dino's neck fluffed up in some sort of display as it snapped at him. Perfect cover for Kitty Pride to land on the thing's head and kick its cheek. Anatomically, the distracted dino tried to throw her off, the running humans below forgotten as it dealt with these two new threats and/or directions.

Sue Storm held out her hands, visualizing the cage. Almost willing the feathered T. rex to step forward, just a little more...and then one huge, clawed foot stepped into the open, and the invisible cage closed around it.

"Disengage," Sue yelled. "I've got it."

Too late, the giant dinosaur realized it was trapped. It thrashed against the invisible bars of its cage. Lockheed remained with the dinosaur, the small dragon appearing to calm the oversized critter.

"Now what?" Kitty asked, landing near Sue.

"Call S.H.I.E.L.D. Maybe they can get this thing to a zoo," Sue asked.

Kitty considered. "Counterproposal: what if we take this thing to the Savage Land? I'm not sure where it came from, but at least there it has a chance for a normal life."

"I'm not opposed," Sue said, glancing down at Kitty's mosquito bites. She wasn't sure why, but those slight reminders of femininity held her attention more than any ridiculous pair of udders ever had. "Although we still need to figure out where this came from."

"And we will, partner," Kitty said confidently. "You and me! I've always wanted a team-up with the Invisible Woman!"
