Kai was sitting on the metro towards college, just like every other Thursday morning. Simply listening to music while he waited for the half hour ride to be over, when he noticed a new app on his phone.

‘Quest master?’ Curious, Kai clicked the app icon, opening a simple looking menu.

‘Fuck! Dark mode, dark mode!’ He rapidly found the settings option and changed the background to a dark gray, and started reading the main menu without getting flashbanged in the process.

‘Who the fuck gave you access to my personal information!?’ He was both annoyed and intrigued, as well as a little scared, but he also had a slight compulsion to keep exploring the app.

Kai rolled his eyes before continuing reading the pop-up, it explained the basic functionality of the app, as well as what was expected from him as a quest master. It was strange, but most importantly, believable, somehow.

The app mentioned being able to slightly influence people into taking the quests, so Kai rapidly understood, dreadfully, that the app was probably influencing him as well. He rapidly closed it, and hovered his finger over the uninstall button, but couldn’t bring himself to lower it.

‘What if it continues to control me after I delete it… yes, it's better to keep it, at least this way I get something in return.’ He smiled bitterly, knowing fully well how much he was lying to himself at that moment, but he couldn't fight the influence on the mysterious app.

After taking a deep breath and calming down a little, he considered his options. The app wasn't exactly evil, nor was it good, it simply wanted entertainment, and providing it was the best option Kai had for now.

He opened the app again, and navigated to the Targets section.

Kai clicked yes, and selected his best friend (and secret crush), Luke.

Luke had been Kai’s friend since they were kids, and Kai had developed feelings for him over the years. Unfortunately, Luke was “as straight as an arrow” as he liked to say, but hadn’t had any luck with the girls yet.

Kai’s finger hovered over the Add quest button, and he bit his lower lip. Was he really going to use a shady, supernatural app to make his straight crush, his best friend, love him?

A few seconds later, he slowly lowered his finger…

This is the first branch of Kai’s story, now you can choose to turn Luke into a cute boy for him (I will be focusing on this path) another gay man archetype, or the “Good friend option” and have him choose another target (Preferably another dude, but its your branch, do as you wish)
