Cute luke path

Kai rapidly wrote a simple quest for Luke. It wasn't hard, nor was it entirely out of character, so he wouldn’t be against it, but it would be an easy way to introduce his friend to the quests, and well as let him test the waters.

Quest: Afterclass studying.

Description: Ask one of your friends to study this afternoon in their house.

Reward: To design a reward you need the reward designer perk.

‘Figures…’ Kai thought, before clicking enter.

Designing recommended reward…

Reward: up to + 5 comprehension of the studied subject (based on the knowledge of the friend), + 1 affinity with the chosen friend.

Kai smiled, the reward seemed nice, and Luke and him tended to study together, so that affinity, whatever it meant, was going to be towards him. Before clicking the confirm button, Kai had an idea, and canceled the quest.

‘Can I reroll this…’

After generating the exact same quest, not only did he receive the same reward, but another pop-up appeared on his screen.

Nice try smartass, any future reroll attempts will be rewarded with increasingly worse rewards.

‘That's what I get for trying to cheat… a god?’ He wasn't entirely sure what to call the entity that created the app, but god seemed like a reasonable term, for now.

After adding the quest, he noticed a few notifications in the corner of the app.

Curious, Kai opened the perk tree, finding it quite expansive. ‘It's not ashes of creation, but it's not small either…’ He chuckled inwardly, reading his options, as well as a few unlocked perks in the future.

‘I should probably get at least recommended reward II, maybe even reward designer, but character editor, target perk tree, and conditional quests seem interesting as well…’

Eventually, Kai decided to level up recommended reward, and then think about what to do in the future. ‘Ugggg! I don't want to screw up, I should get an extra target slot and experiment with someone else instead of risking Luke.’

Kai smiled and closed the app, waiting for the ride to be over and arriving at college.

Once he got to class, he sat down in his usual seat, next to Luke, who had slightly long blonde hair, and beautiful green eyes, and smiled inwardly. “Good morning, how was thermo?” He asked.

“Boring, as usual…” He sighed, barely moving his head up from the messy notes and exercises, some pages crossed out entirely. “Can I ask for a Kai masterclass?”

“Sure!” Kai did his best to contain his excitement, this was going exactly as he intended. “But I already passed thermodynamics, so I demand tribute!” He added with a joking tone.

“I’ll bring snacks!” Luke replied, having already expected this.

After the teacher came in, the class, and the rest of the day, continued as normal, except for the small surprise that Kai received when checking his phone after lunch.

Kai checked his profile and smiled, apparently Luke’s quest was completed when he asked him to study, not after doing the studying. “Makes sense… I guess." He muttered, before opening the target section.

Kai clicked his tongue, of course there was a cooldown, and by the looks of it, an eight hour long one. ‘Well, it should be over before he comes to study…’

Kai thought before returning to the group, slowly thinking on what quest to give him next.
