Your first thought was to skip it and discuss your options with Emma before making any rash purchases but as long as you kept some of the points saved, you didn’t think she would ever have an issue with you using what you had saved so far. She’d probably even actively encourage you to use them.

And given that you now had to have a conversation with Sarah about revealing the KDK later today, the rogue thought of using what you could now before you had to reveal the system did cross your mind.

Opening the shop app, you hadn’t had any new levels to prompt new items being available but there were some of the usual suspects that you would usually consider. The intelligence upgrade was once you always considered but the price was starting to get steeper than just a casual purchase. With it starting at 10 and doubling with each of your purchases, the now 40-point price was hard to cash out for. Flexibility was at 20 thanks to a previously free upgrade and your fertility was also now costing 40 to go any higher.

All your other stats still cost 10 to upgrade.

Strength, Stamina, Willpower and Charm were the ones you hadn’t touched and you had to vaguely guess what each of them would do without having much of a description from the system into the specifics of what they would upgrade.

Strength wasn’t something you needed day to day but being able to carry your subjects more easily when you wanted to take them upstairs or in the rare occurrence you might have to actually defend yourself, it would always be handy to have. Taking that felt like you were planning for the worst case scenario while also getting some extra side benefits from it in the process.

The rest however, didn’t seem as appealing as you had first thought they would be once you actually considered buying them.

Stamina would certainly help when you were having longer intimate nights with your subjects but you were already able to keep up with them currently. You knew it didn’t necessarily mean sexual-stamina but given it was the KDK, it felt like it was bound to affect that. Getting tired and spending some time resting alongside a partner had an appeal to it that you didn’t want to lose.

And that logic continued in your head to Willpower as well. Like when you were in bed with Sarah minutes ago, if you had just made the immediate decision to get up without having to battle with the idea of staying in bed, you felt like some of the human element would be lost in the process.

And Charm just felt… unnatural? You still had a Charm upgrade ready to use from an achievement Monday that you hadn’t used and frankly, you were worried about it even now.

Having people look at you differently because you gave off a better impression or the way you talked changed to make you sound more appealing. Each just felt hollow and you could feel yourself developing a complex on if it was really you they were attracted to or just what the KDK had made you into.

That was just a guess though at how the Charm upgrade would work, same as the others, as you had no way of knowing how each of them would change you. Or how they would change a subject if you were to give them an upgrade like how you and Emma experienced different effects from your Intelligence upgrades.

It was a very strange concept to wrap your head around. The KDK making people change when you touch them and levelling them up was something you had processed but changing people yourself with the press of a button still felt wrong in some way, especially when it affected yours or their mental state.

You could find yourself spending hours on thinking( and subsequently overthinking) on the ethical dilemma you had every time you wanted to make a change with the KDK, or even just your continued use of it but you had allowed yourself to be selfish in this regard and you wouldn’t be turning back.

You considered your options and decided to do something that you felt was unlike you.

Instead of activating it however, you just left it alongside your unused Charm upgrade. It was a complete waste of points and if you usually bought something, it was with the intention of using it right away when you were absolutely sure you were going to use it for its intended effect.

With this however, sure there might be a time when you needed it, however you had no specific reason to buy it other than just a whim.

Thoughts came into your mind as if it was a mistake but you pushed your legs to keep you moving quicker and put your phone back into your pocket. Instead you decided to go off on another tangent as you walked, getting closer to the school now and knowing you were only a couple of minutes away from making it to the gate.

You had planned out quite a large chunk of your life that was dependent on your upcoming exams but if everything did work out exactly as you planned, there were still issues with your idyllic fantasy. One of them being Rebecca.

If you went off to college with Sarah and Emma, you’d see them constantly, and you were sure that Mom, Grace and Lucy would all come to visit and you would go back home as well given the commute to campus wouldn’t be that long.

Rebecca however was in a weird middle ground where you weren’t sure if it was okay to get her to visit and if she did, you could see yourself feeling guilty for having her make the trip. Even in the reverse situation, you wouldn’t be able to see her at the school any more and you could visit her at her home, she was still outside of the immediate group that you had and while you had planned stuff for this party, you needed to think more on how she could be more connected with everyone.

That was partly why you wanted to talk with her early today so you could see what she thought about tonight and to see if you could convince her to spend more time with you all. She had certainly made the effort to go to the gym and while you didn’t know exactly what conversation she had had with Grace while she was there, it seemed to have gone well which was an amazing start.

You reached the gates to the school and in your head, you really wanted tonight to go well, including bringing Rebecca more into the fold. You didn’t know in which way but at this point you were determined to make it work.

That resolution did give you a bit of a pep in your step and you made it into the main school building and up towards the teacher offices to go see Rebecca.
