Jakes loses to Cousin Gregory

Jake had always hated his cousin Gregory. Depsiter being a year younger than him, he had always treated Jake like a little kid at best or a baby at worst. He never liked his Aunt Cathy that much either. She always made fun of his dad and just like her son used to act way too high and mighty with his mom.

The Xiao side and the Long side of the family had always held a tense relationship with each other going back centuries.

He was vaguely aware of the fact that the Patriarch of the family had long ago won a bet with his Grandpa that ensured he was in charge of the overall family and that the Longs had to "accommodate" the side of Gregory for the foreseeable future.

The Xiao were classified as the Alphas dragons, while the Long were the Betas. While Jake, his sister and his mom had weakened effects on account of only being tangentially related to the bet, they still were **** to obey it. Unlike their grandfather however, the compulsion was not magical and merely based upon honor.

Luong Lao had become the Chinese Dragon, but had been **** to serve the majority of his adult life as the lackey of his younger brother. It had been one of the reasons why he had moved away from China and eventually given up the mantel of Dragon to his brother's son.

But that deadline that had shaped his family was about to pass.

The annoying treatment by his younger cousin and seeing how increasingly bothered both his mother and sister were getting at their treatment by their cousins, had led Jake to step up and approach his Great Uncle Ming about another bet.

Jake vs his cousin Gregory in a three bet dragon battle. Now that his cousin had awakened his dragon abilities, a full bet battle for another three generations of Long vs Xiao servitude could be held.

"So, young Long, you wish to walk the same path your grandfather once chose?" he looked over to both Jake's mother and sister who were standing behind the young man with determined if slightly worried looks in their eyes.

The chance of escaping their current servile status in the family was tempting, but if Jake lost this bet it would mean just like their grandfather their servitude would become much more literal than it had been before.

"Usually a servitude challenge may only be issued after the third generation offspring produces the fourth generation. Your or your sisters son and or daughter would fight the children of Gregory or his younger brother Andrew" the glint in his gran uncles eyes made Jake visibly gulp. Whatever it meant, he didnt expect he would like it.

"I am however open to the idea off personally experiencing the Long family resigning themselves to another three generations of being the Beta side to our Alphas. Perhaps this time you might come to understand your true place better if you were to fully embrace your status.

My daughter has recently acquired the block that you and your family live in thanks to her wise investments over the years in addition to this lovely island we are currently standing on, my dear boy.

Also ever since the tragic **** of your Uncle Victors passing, which unlike your disappointment of a father had actual magic to call his own, my daughter has been looking to get away from their old home in Florida.

Gregory and Andrew have also shown interest in the big city life. So, the opportunity of moving with your family and having the appropriate servants there to cater to their needs IS appealing" he smiled towards Susan who squirmed under his eyes.

"But there are two rather annoying factors that stand in the way of this living arrangement working out perfectly Jakey my dear. Your status as the American Dragon and your imbecile father. I cant abide to see the failures of the pat repeat themselves via being to lax with the Beta side of the family in this bet.

So I propose this as long as my dear Cathy is okay with this idea, I would extend our bet battle into a more serious direction than the last. If you win this bet, Cathy will grant your not only the property right of your whole block, but thrown in the islands resort we are currently occupying." glancing towards his daughter Cathy nodded with absolute confidence in her sons success. So much such that Jake could not help but get a little nervous.

Seeing her agreement with the terms, he turned to Jake once more.

"But if you lose this bet Jakey, you will lose the title of American Dragon and most of your magic to Gregory, as well as him becoming the new man of your house" Susan let out a gasp at this.

"That's right my dear, if you wish your son to have a chance at reversing your current status of servitude in the family, you have to bet your marriage upon it. There is simply now way my grandchildren will tolerate a man without magic living in the same house as them, and neither will my daughter" this caused Jake to lock obviously scared, Susan and Hailey not dealing with the stakes of the bet that much better.

Gregory now mockingly stuck his tongue out towards Jake while his mother has a vicious smirk on her face before declaring to the distraught family "oh? Are the Longs tugging their tails in at the prospect of facing my Gregory? I should have known!" the laugh that his aunt let out would haunt Jake for weeks to come.

He turned around and starred in his mothers eyes. Susan was torn between wanting to silence that annoying shriek of Cathy and finally getting her family some respect and the prospect of dooming her marriage and her family to three more generations at least.

"Jake are you absolutely sure that you can do this?" the uncertainty that was audible in her voice did not exactly encourage Jake in his response but he shakily nodded his head.

"Y-yeah Mom I-I think I can do this!" he tried to convince himself more than his mom before she and him both turned around and alongside Hailey whom tried her best to smile at her older brother encouragingly declared "I challenge you to a Domination Dragon bet!"

This was met by a confident Gregory, a viciously smirking Cathy and Ming whom was anxiously wetting his lips at the prospect of witnessing his grandson defeat his brothers grandson and actually stealing his Dragon title alongside gaining his servitude like he should have done long ago.
