Intermission 5: Pony Tsunotori
Tags: no sex, just fun stuff
"Aaaaand let's take this off." Said the nice nurse lady as she slowly took away the bandage that covered my right eye under the eyepatch. "Give it a look, literally. How's it look?"
"Uuuuuuh... Blurry."
Momo would stare at me for a moment, holding my face so I would look at her. "Jack. Your eyes are both different colors."
"Ah, my bad. It's hard to always get the right color. What color is it?" Momo would flinch watching it.
"It's—It's just not the right color."

"So you fix your own eye, you said." The nurse mentioned, observing it "Hmm.… Give it a few more days then, keep at it, keep the eyepatch, and do not get much sunlight on it. I am not sure what you will do about the color. If you start to lose vision in the other eye, let me know since it could be some major nerve damage, but from what I can see, you are good to go for now. It's good to see students that make my job easier"
"Hehe, yeah, I am the best." I was feeling too cocky. "Can I get a lollipop to go?"
Momo and I stepped outside of the nurse room as I was licking the candy with glee. "So I was wondering, will you need assistance dealing with your dad?" My mood plunged down as she made me remember my piece of shit father.
"What happens to my dad or what not, does not matter, there is no point on doing something right now because we have nowhere to go; no need to intervene."
"I want to help you."
"I know you and I will ask you if I need to, but I don't want to throw you guys into danger; there is a difference between trust and throw. I trust you to protect me; I won't throw you into danger once more."
"We can help you."
"I know you can, which is why I told you all about yesterday, but that doesn't mean we need to go now. My master will be fine in a few days; I will be fine in a few days. All that I need is to wait; that's all."
"Waiting is not a good idea."
"Rushing is not a good idea either. What do you want me to do?"
"If you know something is being built there—"
"I told Aizawa; he said he was going to send some people to check out the company and the zone; it's the same thing I would've done."
"But-"
"Sirli also knows and has said he will look into my dad's transactions and investments alongside related connections. We are finnnneeee." Momo pouted at me; she looked almost upset that I wasn't listening. "I am willing to hear ideas, however."
"I think that you could meet up with your dad and set him up."
"Ooooh, I can't. I kind of sort of insulted him and called her guard lady a crazy bitch or something around those words, and I may or may not have collapsed a very important route for the construction in a very non-legal way."
"... Okay, how about your friends? We could ask them for help." I turned around to look at her.
"Eeeeeh, I would rather not. Besides, they are already investigating him on their side."
"You are making this more difficult than it has to be."
"Well, I am just being honest, Momo; we can relax back and enjoy ourselves; no need to push yourself to the limit."
"I am not pushing myself, Jack; I am trying to find solutions."
"I am as well, and I appreciate your help, but doing things this way won't get us anywhere because I am not even sure what my dad is planning... Although the guard lady did say something. Uh, Dianna, I mean, she said that she had a plan to eradicate villains and said that I was one of the three things capable of doing so."
"What? How?"
"Not sure... But she didn't mean to kill them, that's for certain, although hearing her tone, it did sound like she wanted to murder people."
"Why would you be capable of eradicating all villains?" She tried thinking about it.
I decided to play around and suddenly picked her up. "It's because I am super strong, why else!" She was holding me as I suddenly lifted her.
"J-jack! I am serious."
"I am serious too! I am so strong, don't you see?"
"What are you two doing?" I heard a voice behind me scaring me as I almost dropped Momo, but I was able to put her down on the ground. I turned to see a small stacked missy behind me.

"Oh, uh, just playing around." I smiled, trying to pass it as actually just that. She was really short compared to me now that I think about it; her voice is very squeaky too. It's kind of lovely. "Hey, hey, can you sing a song?"
"Hm?" She looked confused at me.
"It's just that her voice sounds so different! She has an accent. Where is that accent from? Are you a foreigner too, Momo? I thought I was the only foreigner. I am not special anymore. You hid such a secret from me?"
"I am from America."
"No way! Me too! Sort of! Kind of... Uuuh, part of? Momo, how American am I? Am I like 50% American? 60% American? I always wondered how close Nemo is to America"
"You are probably similar to Hawaii when it comes to America or maybe Guam as well." Momo explained to me although I had a new question.
"What's Guam?"
"I—" Momo would rub her temple as she heard that. I never paid attention to history or geography classes, to be fair.
"Where are you from?" I asked Pony as she replied with a smile.
"[Oklahoma, I heard about you; it's nice to have another American student. Setsuna also talks often about you.]" She spoke back to me in English.
"Ooooooh no way. How's it like there? The only three states I went to were Texas, California, and Iowa."
"That's cool! I once visited Nemo in the past! It was actually one of the schools my parents wanted to take me to before deciding on U.A."
"[No way!] Momo, are you hearing this?"
"I can understand english Jack" She said with a smile, "Hey, how about you make a new friend while I try and figure out something about, you know... our situation?"
"Ooooh, sounds good! Although seriously Momo, don't sweat it, there is not much to do, just relax and have fun. [Hey, do you know a place that makes good barbecues here? No offense to Japanese food; it's nice, but I miss a good old steak.]"
"[Heh, I know a place, but it's closed today; the lunchroom makes some good burgers.]"
"[Sure, let's go!] Please don't worry about what we talked about, Momo! I swear I will handle this, and if I need your help, I will tell you first thing, promise, big promise." I walked away as Momo was left behind with the worries about my father in her mind; hopefully she forgets about it at least, and I walked away with Pony trying to see what else we had in common.
Location: U.A. Lunchroom.
Pony and I, for once, decided to speak English instead of Japanese, which is a bit refreshing and helps me not to think of the exact word every time. "So I have to ask." Pony looked at me while we were eating some burgers, nothing more American than that. "Why didn't you join Nemo? "
"Honestly?" She chuckled "I saw the study plan and I saw the uniforms; didn't dig a military hero school."
"Ugh, I know, right? 5 years is insane."
"I mean, the time is the least. A lot of universities, colleges, and hero academies actually are 5 years too."
"Really? Huh..."
"But I had a chance at U.A., so I took it; no risk, no gain, you see? Also, no need to talk about how American we are all the time." She said with a bit of a smug tone.
"Sorry, but I feel like I have been trying too long to adapt to the U.A. ways of behaving. Its hard to leave my old mannerisms behind"
"Hm? "That's strange; I never felt like that." Right, she is not an asshole, unlike me.
"Eeeeeh, I guess Nemo just made me very dead serious all the time and abrassive."
"Sounds stressful! Although I cannot say U.A. was all fun and giggles"
"Oof, yeah, that war stuff was... Yikes."
"Guess I chose the wrong school at the end if I wanted a normal experience haha... It was awful." She would keep on eating as normal as I handed her a small jar of apple jam. "Thanks... Not to say that this is ironic, but I like apples."
"Pony and likes apples... Wait, your name is Pony, and you like apples, but you have horns? Sounds a bit—"
"Confusing, right? There are unicorns, but nope, Pony is my name! And I throw horns out of my head."
"Yeah, I saw you in the practice after I fought Setsuna... Th-that fight got ugly for reasons, haha."
"Yeah, it was hard to watch; we saw you crushing and stabbing her body pieces. It was a bit intense"
"Yeah..." I couldn't say that was not the reason why. "Oh wait, your name is Pony, and you are short; no wonder you weren't called 'horsy.'" She rolled her eyes but not in a mean way.
"I have to ask. What did you do to Setsuna to get her so obsessed"
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"Well, since the time you two fought, she has been obsessing a little bit over you, so that got me curious."
"That's just her; she just said I fought really well and has been asking me to spar with her. She felt humiliated; that's all." I tried to come up with a lie.
"Really? I would say she has a bit of a crush on you." I try to not show my emotions, but it is hard.
"Uuuuuuh, I wouldn't date her if that's what you are suggesting; if anything, I think I am not a good match for her."
"Can I ask something, and don't think of this in a bad way?"
"Sure."
"Did youuu..." She gave a little clap. "With her?"
"Ugh, that obvious?"
"Nope, I understand it more than you think, a lot of second years have asked me to date them, and a third year did too, but I kept it a secret, as I didn't want to break his heart. Most guys here are so focused on dating first before getting to know the other person, you know? And if you suggest some casual fun if you think they are pretty sometimes they panic."
"That's a thing? I thought it was like they wait years before confessing?"
"Huh? No. Totally the other way around."
"Are you sure? Maybe because you are a girl and I am a guy it's different?"
"I am sure of what I am saying, people jump to dating first before actually hanging out with each other, I've lived in this country longer than you, no offense."
"It's just that it doesn't feel like it. Have you seen Ochaco and Izuku?"
"Completely different situation; I can tell you about Jiro and Denki instead. They are sort of dating, but they don't go out much. It's really strange; I like to go out to do fun stuff, but when someone asks me on a date and I tell them to go out, they think I am jumping straight for easy fun. I guess they see it as taboo for me to ask to go to a club or a bar."
"Didn't take you for someone that likes drinking."
"Heh, as if I could get drunk; my quirk came with some fun side effects. My liver is super powerful; I could drink a whole barrel of beer and not fall. You know, I have to say it's nice dropping the cute attitude once in a while."
"Cute attitude?"
"Lots of people find me very cute."
"You are cute; you are like Tsuyu's levels of cute but cuter since you are a shorty."
"Teehee yeah! But I also have my wild moments; I honestly tend to be more timid as to not stand out much, but having someone around like you makes me feel more comfortable."
"You said you like to go out to clubs and drink. How is that timid?"
"I said timid; I didn't say introverted. I just avoid most people that flirt with me. I don't mind if it's students, but going out and people noticing my accent, they suddenly swarm me. It's strange to be a foreigner at times; I feel like everyone in Japan hates casual sex, yet they practice it more often than not when it comes to social gatherings. But they are very sexless in some marriages? It's very strange how the generations split apart so perfectly... Uuuuh, but I don't want to talk about that. What about you? I would guess someone has asked you on a date."
"I saw you all mellow with Momo back there; what was that?"
"That was personal, super spy secret Nemo business."
"Like that thing with the city."
"Hm? How—"
"Our teacher told us. They also said to keep an eye on you, as Vlad doesn't trust you."
"Ugh—I didn't do anything, I swear."
"You don't look like the type to do so. Setsuna also helped save Tokoyami by your request."
"Yeah, I did that. I am so smart."
"Hmmmm... Hey Jack? Are you cool if I ask you a favor?"
"Sure, what's up?"
"There is this band playing tonight at a venue, more like a restaurant's basement; they have a dance floor, and I want to head out there."
"Cool."
"Want to be my plus two? Also look out for me? Being small, cute, a foreigner, and a heteromorph usually gets people all riled up and/or angry half the time."
"Is there actual heteromorph racism in Japan? I've never seen that."
"Eh, just some people that are weird, if I am honest. But there are a lot of creeps; I can tell you that. The number of times I have caught a creep while doing her work is absurd."
"I guess it's just some sort of cultural difference."
"It's gross... I mean, America is not better with our own problems, but still... Eh, we are sidetracking! You make me talk a lot!" Her voice, even when raised, was so cute; I love it!
"Hehehe, hell yeah, I could go clubbing, but I am not a good dancer..." Although Momo did teach me some dancing moves... Well, not really, it was slow dancing. What does one do in clubs? Should I jump up and down?
"You just have to look out for me; shouldn't be that hard."
"Well, we are both heroes, so let's look after each other. Do you really dislike going clubbing?"
"I once went with some of the 3-B girls, but they disliked it, not to mention there were always players trying to pick up chicks, so they saw us and started being weird. I tried inviting some of the 2-B boys, but uuuuh—"
"They thought it was a date?"
"Yeah. I said it was just a friend hangout, but all day at the club they acted weird with me, and the day after one of them confessed."
"Sounds like you reject people often."
"It's harder than you think, so much harder." She sighed. "What do you say? Fun time? Then take you to a barbecue place?"
"You son of a horse, I am in."
"My mom is more of a cow."
"Is your dad a horse?"
"I— H—he is..." She tried to not say it: "His job is related to my mom's quirk too."
"... Farmer?"
"God damn it, it's not weird, right?"
"No no, I like animals too, pft, frogs especially." I tried to not laugh at that.
"Do you like Tsuyu?"
"So see you tomorrow night then? Should I wear something nice or something cool?" Quick misdirection
"Sure! And something cool, one of the 2-B guys came with a suit, and it was weird seeing him in a club wearing that... He almost got his money stolen too; maybe it's good we keep an eye out on each other."
"Well, see you out of school tonight then?"
"Sure, but I'm not sure if you know school has a curfew until—"
"Yeah, I am aware we can come back early."
"Actually, I was about to say we need a place to stay once the venue is over."
"Oh, we can use my home, not so far from the academy."
"You have a house near U.A. and still sleep in the U.A. rooms?"
"If you say it like that, it makes me feel like a rich douchebag."
"We can go to your house; I don't mind. See you tonight, Jack." She stood up, walking away as I looked down! HOLY SHIT, SHE ALSO HAS HORSE LEGS! How did I not see that before?
Location: Jack's room, Heights Alliance
"Are you sure it's a good idea for you to leave just like that?" Tsuyu asked me as she helped me pick an outfit that made me look pretty.
"What do you mean?"
"With what happened yesterday and your right eye not being fully healed"
"Awwww, you are worried."
"Jack, I am serious, Kero."
"Yeah yeah, well there is no point in worrying about it; you two are overthinking. Nothing is happening, so nothing should be done, no one is going to get hurt."
"Doing nothing sometimes can be the most violent thing you can do."
"Zizek, pretty nice."
"What?"
"Oh, I thought, never mind, Tsuyu; I could go out, investigate, research, and let Sirli know, but I would be bringing nothing else. That's all there is—and honestly, I didn't have a normal college experience, so I want to do that."
"Jack, we didn't have one either. You cannot just say that as an excuse."
"Okay, you are right on that, but honestly, tell me, is there something I can do right now?" She looked to the side.
"As long as no one is getting hurt, I guess it's fine, but as soon as this small break is over, we will start working on your situation."
"I don't mind."
"Also make sure to take good care of Pony and let me know what stuff you are doing."
"Of course, how could I leave you without the spicy details?" I shot a smug smile at her as she threw a pillow at me. "I am just teasing; besides nothing is going to happen. I am just there as a plus two to take care of her."
"Hmmmmm, Jack, if I had 1000 yen for every girl you have stayed alone and had sex with, I would have a cake; you are very easy to flirt with."
"Oooor I am very charming, maybe?"
"Nope, very easy, really easy actually. I think we need to work on your standards before you actually be with someone you regret."
"I—Tsuyu, I believe you are calling me promiscuous, so I will just ignore that. Do I look good?"

"I am not saying it in a bad way, but you certainly fall easily to anyone; you also have a type too from what I understand."
"A type? Well, yeah, now that I think about it, you are right."
"Yes, you really are weak to girls that are very soft with you."
"Hm? Oh—I guess that too."
"... What type were you thinking?"
"So, uhh, do I look good?"
"Jack."
"I thought you meant heteromorphs." Tsuyu went quiet for a moment.
"That's not why—"
"No, of course not, but it's definitely a plus."
"I will think about that, I guess."
"... Soooooo do I look good?"
"You look good."
"Nice, also nothing will happen. I can have friends I don't have sex with, like Mineta, Tokoyami, I think Draw and Sirli and, uh, Izuku, I guess? Sort of. I like his mom; she is the best for certain."
"You can add her mother to that list too."
"..." I coughed. Letting that sink in for a moment.
"Ah right, I kind of forgot about that. Just make sure to not hurt Pony."
"You two good friends?"
"Not really, I don't think we ever talked. Nor do I remember, at least."
"Then see you later, Tsuyu. Love you." I leaned in and kissed her cheek. " Oh, and uh, want to have a movie date later? It's been a while since we spent one-on-one time together."
"I am actually trying to plan something for later."
"Oooooh a good something or a bad something?"
"It's... Something that's for certain."
"It's not related to my current hero issues, right?"
"No. Just be safe out there."
I gave a thumbs up at Tsuyu; since both of them came back, they had been bothering me with the hero stuff. I mean, I did hide a lot from them, so it's quite unfair but also reasonable as to why they would act this way. They have all the right to be afraid or doubtful of the way I behave; I need to gain their trust back. "I will try and bring something sweet for you, bye." I gave her a goodbye kiss right before leaving, acting as if nothing bad was happening; perhaps it would be better if Sirli helped me out to handle the situation. Although that would just get them more angry, I would be asking for help from a person who isn't them.
I sighed as there was no easy solution, as always, even if I really wanted to take the easy way out, but I didn't need to focus on that; I had a different mission today: go party with the horse girl.
I head outside to see Pony, who was waiting at the entrance, wearing a dress, something that might be a bit fitting for dancing? I am really not sure if I am honest; I have never gone to a nightclub. Now that I think about it, is this even a nightclub? She just said there was a band playing at a venue; maybe she is one of those girls that support indie music? I was overthinking this.
"Hey, ready to go?" I asked calmly.
"Yup! How do I look?" She spun to show me her whole outfit.

"You look cool."
"Do you need something before we go?"
"Hm? Uuuuh, yeah, I am fine. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, because of the eyepatch, I'm unsure if that might trouble you."
"Oh! That's right, uh- Yeah, it's fine; it's almost healed anyways. I will just stand away from crowds and keep an eye on you. Get it? An eye on you." She chuckled; it was nice to not worry about anything. "Let me call a cab since apparently it's illegal to use quirks in Japan unless there is a hero situation... Question, Are you as fast as a horse?"
"Were you thinking of riding me there?"
"I would be lying if I said I didn't think of it..."
Location: Venue, basement floor.
"... You sure this is the place?" I looked around as it was getting close to nighttime. It looked like something that would end up becoming part of a horror film set.
![]()
"Yup, that's the place."
"Is that the only entrance? Looks like a fire hazard."
"There are two emergency exits down there; not to mock our country, but Japan takes safety even in these places much more seriously."
"Oh, I am not a patriotic weirdo; shit on America all you want. We are only good to make tons of heroes if I am honest. Let's get going." We went downstairs and entered the place. It was dark but had good illumination around the place. The dance floor was the only thing darkened, as if it was a rave; one could fit like 80 people here. "Big place."
"Yup! You could get lost easily; stick close, okay?" Pony seemed to wave at one of the security guys around the place; it seems like she has come here before.
"You like partying here often?"
"I go to the restaurant above; I never come here alone."
"Hm, is it that bad?"
"It all depends on people. Not saying that it happens often here; it happens everywhere. You have to be cautious; that's all. Any graze or bump can just be done with ill intentions; I want to have fun without having to worry. That's why you are here, and if you do a good job, we could go do something you like next."
"I like board games."
"Hm? Oh, sure, I guess. Want something to drink?"
"Sorry, how old are you?"
"Old enough to drink legally."
"Awesome."
"Are you old enough?"
"Hell yeah, I am probably older than all of you; I am like your big brother and stuff."
"Heh, okay, big bro, let me order us something."
"Oh! Actually no drinks for me, thanks."
"Want some fruit punch at least?"
"Yeah, that I can manage." I sat down at the bar while Pony ordered for me; she looked pretty cute in the dress, especially with her height too. I had to be about 30 centimeters taller than her, maybe a bit more; she handed me the punch with a smile as she drank it. "So you just like to come here and dance?"
"Who doesn't like dancing?"
"I can only slow dance, but that's because I have to learn for a mission."
"That's alright. I like dancing because it makes me feel all free and it really spikes my energy to 100%."
"Well... When I was a kid, my friend and I used to sneak into important places. We once made the news in France for entering a museum, actually, but since we stole nothing, they just called us the 'art appreciation ghosts.' In reality, we were trying to look for some art piece for a school project."
"Didn't know you lived in France."
"I didn't—well, actually it's a bit of a long story, and the details are a bit boring, so let's just say we had our ways."
"Interesting, keeping secrets."
"More than you think..."
"Well, as soon as I am finished here, I am going dancing. Want to come?"
"Oh, we're slow dancing or something; this music is a bit moving."
"No, silly, just dancing; no need to hold hands."
"Uuuuuh hmmmm..." I tried to think how normal people would dance. I looked around; some guys were just standing around nodding their heads at the beat of the music, and some girls joined by others, shaking and moving left and right, but... They looked good dancing; I was afraid I would look a bit off if I started dancing. "I am not a good dancer; you might make fun of me."
"How would you know if you don't dance?"
"I will pass this time; go have fun. That way at least I can keep my eye on anyone's shoulders, and if someone gets close to you, I will just push them off."
"Alright, I will go later then; I prefer the other song anyways."
"So who is this band? Are they like very indie niche artists?"
"Oh, let me tell you all about them then while we wait." Pony would spend the next 5-10 minutes explaining the lore about this band. She seemed into music or at least into this band; it was nice hearing her talk about it. Her voice was also a plus, as she really sounded adorable. She looked so full of life and happy; I was glad that I could join her this one time.
After that a very moving song started to play. I saw people standing up heading to the dance floor in front of where the band was playing. Keeping my eye on Pony in the distance, it was strange being someone's bodyguard, but at least she looked happy there dancing on her own; she had plenty of freedom. I guess that's what she was worried about: someone taking away that freedom of having fun, of enjoying herself. It made me think how I kept worrying about Tsuyu and Momo. I guess I was depriving them of these worryless sensations that I should be giving them, like Pony was having on the dance floor.

Hmmmmmm, it made me feel stressed out now. I was going to fix this as soon as I could, maybe not ask Sirli for help but rather information, help her out, make a net of people, and figure stuff out like super spies or a team. My eyes locked in with Pony as she waved at me in the distance, and I did so as well, but I saw behind her someone a bit odd-looking, who had his eyes fixated on her, coming close. I wanted to intervene, but I didn't want to make a scene... Then again, I doubt anyone can see me use my quirk here.
As he got close, pulling out his phone out of his pocket but not lifting it, just keeping it low, low enough to take the picture of someone underneath, a very illegal panty shot that is. I used my quirk to lift a piece of the ground, making sure it hooked with his feet and made him stumble. I watched him fall forward and drop his phone in the crowd. I couldn't hear what he said, but he certainly was cursing, and eventually his foot was stomped all over as he was the one to make a scene as he pushed some people away to get to his phone.
Pony didn't seem to notice what happened as she kept dancing happily; at least I was able to keep someone's worries out of their heads while they enjoyed themselves. She made a sign to me to come dance with her. I was unsure at first, but being close to her would make other creeps go away easier; besides, I could use some dancing. I got close to her and tried to dance with her, mimicking her moves, but it didn't come as naturally as hers. I saw her laughing for a moment; I couldn't hear her due to the music as she told me to lean down.
I did get close to her so she could whisper as she told me, "You look like one of those dancing cacti!" That sole comment made me flustered enough to stop dancing and go back to where I was sitting before. "I joke! I joke!" She said as she followed me trying to convince me to go back to the dance floor with her.
