In the Gryffindor Common Room

With the ending of the days festivities, Hermione found herself seated amongst her friends in a corner of the Gryffindor Common Room. Several other groups of students were nearby absorbed in their own conversations. Yet, Hermione found herself extremely unsatisfied with the climate today.

"Is this all we are going to do," said Hermione. Usually her face would be buried in a book preparing for a year of classes, but she had memorized most of those books by now.

"Can't we talk about what happened at the Quidditch World Cup," said Hermione.

Harry seemed surprised and turned away from his conversation with Ron.

"Since when do you like sports," said Harry? That comment confused Hermione. The events and the attack on the Quidditch World Cup by **** Eaters should have been all he wanted to talk about.

"I don't care about sports," said Hermione as she began to whisper, "I want to talk about Voldemort."

"Who," said Harry with a genuine look of confusion. Hermione furrowed her brow and took a deep breath in frustration. What kind of trick was he trying to play. Was it possible that Voldemort went by a different name in this timeline? They should be elbow deep in schemes right now to stop him. Idius Halfhwit would be deep in nefarious plots.

"I don't know why you're frustrated," said Ron, "probably cause you aren't nose deep in a textbook right now. This is what we normally do." Ron took a deep breath and stared off into the distance.

"Well, besides, Nevermind." Ron turned away from Hermione suddenly pretending that the gentle rain on the window was super interesting.

"Besides what," said Hermione. Harry shook his head in warning to Ron who after a shrug of his shoulders turned to Hermione in a whisper.

"Well you did say that you liked boobs right," said Ron?

"That is absolutely not what I said," said Hermione, but her answer didn't sway Ron.

"Well when you, and other girls aren't around," said Ron, "us guys usually like to talk about boobs."

Hermione was familiar with this, and knew that girls too talked about guys when they weren't there. Yet, she tried to look surprised when she heard Ron's words.

"How barbaric," said Hermione.

"It's perfectly normal. Now that you like girls too I guess we should include you in these talks right." That was quite the assumption by Ron.

"I mean Harry talks about Cho Chang all the time and how he'd like to climb up those legs one of these days."

Harry hit Ron on his shoulder hard, and most of the room began to stare from across the way. Ron lowered his voice and rubbed his shoulder.

"But me," said Ron with a frown, "I am more into personality if I am being honest."

"He means boobs," said Harry, "Ron is into any girl with boobs." Ron shook his shoulders in surrender.

Surprisingly Hermione couldn't find the strength to chastize Ron for being so superficial, because she truly was feeling differently then ever. She herself had been checking out random girls in the Common Room. Her eyes roaming over the bodies of students who waved and smiled at her.

"So Hermione," said Harry, "since you know a little about us. What kind of girls would you say you were into?"

That was a very good question.
