Holly, Just Your Type

You scroll up and down the list, finding it almost impossible to settle on anyone. But the more you look, the more one particular girl just seems to connect with you, and you have no idea why.

Her name is Holly. She is based in North Carolina, USA, so in terms of location, she is hardly the most convenient of the bunch. She is clearly very attractive, but not a standout among the group in terms of pure, conventional beauty. You don't even know that much about her, such is her limited use of social media. She has put much more effort into her LinkedIn page, which is very in depth but not with the kind of information you really care about. You can't put your finger on what it is you like so much about her, but there is definitely something.

You scroll through the list a couple more times but feel like your decision is made. It is going to be Holly. You have managed to locate her number, so call her up without delay.

"Hello?"

From her tone, she almost seems to be on the defensive before you have even said a word. You don't want to prolong her misery, so cut straight to the chase.

"Hi Holly, I know all about your curse. I am in full control of you now"

There is a long, silent pause on the other end of the line. Some audible, heavier than usual breathing, not much else.

"Holly, I need you to let me know you understand me" you press her.

"I understand" she says simply, and without much obvious emotion.

"Good, I promise you I am not going to hurt you in any way. But Holly, I need you to catch a plane to Manchester, England as soon as you possibly can. Check your messages once you land, and follow the directions I am going to send you from there. Okay?"

"Okay" she replies.

Was this the right choice? Or a crazy gamble based on no more than a gut feeling you can't even account for. You should start to find out soon enough.
