Chapter 11 by Koriandr Koriandr

What did the computer do?

Hold her until Batman returns

Damian waited with growing anxiety as the computer processed her request.

“Negative. Miss Kelesy-Ives, please wait patiently for Batman to return.”

The former boy wonder scowled, the expression looking unintentionally more akin to a cute pout in her current body, but was she was too exhausted at that point to keep arguing with the stupid computer. All she could do now was wait for her father to return and try to explain the situation… so long as she could do that without exploding from embarrassment and shame first then Batman should be able to devise a solution. Hopefully he’ll be able to turn her back to normal before the endless lectures and punishment start.

She was angry, mostly at the computer and by extension her father for clearly programming it without proper safeguards. Why the computer was capable of changing her anatomy on a genetic level, she couldn't figure out. What was the point in that? What utility did that serve for her father's mission?

He was the one who deserved a lecture, not her.

In any case, it seemed nothing she could do could convince the computer to let her out.

She paced around her cell in silence for several minutes before letting out a frustrated groan. She tried to lie back down on the bench, only to fit it cold and barely better than a stone floor.

“Can I at least wait somewhere more… comfortable?”

She asked finally. To her embarrassment it seemed this body had a lower tolerance for discomfort and physical strain than her old one, so much endurance training and muscle memory was lost because of a malfunctioning A.I.

“Acknowledging request: Calculating threat level and appropriate measures. -izZZzZZt- Error -izZZzZZt-. Miss Kelesy-Ives, you are currently held in an advanced holding containment unit for metahumans. -izZZzZZt- Assigning new containment for: Untrained Base-Human Non-Combatment.”

Damian was slightly miffed at being called untrained, but thankfully was able to hold her tongue. Gas poured into the room, this time making her drowsy and soon causing her to fall **** as the Batcave’s automated systems worked to move her body.

However, while this made her easy to transport without complaint, the new gas being introduced into her body had an unintentional side-effect both Damian and the computer are unaware of. A small dormant trait leftover from Poison Ivy; her pheromones which she could use to mind control others, were awoken once again as her body detected a harmful foreign agent attacking it, activating any defenses it could.

These pheromones, while not as potent or controllable in the exact same manner as Poison Ivy’s, nonetheless began to silently be produced and spread around. The air-filtration system of the Batcave and Wayne Manor being as on the fritz as the computer and thus not registering the mutated pheromones as something to shield against, due to them having changed enough to not resemble those of Poison Ivy’s under biological scanners.

Consciousness eventually returned to the ex-Robin turned college girl. Damian rubbed her eyes groggily and surveyed where the computer took her.

To her mild surprise this looked like a standard guestroom in Wayne Manor, although upon closer inspection she recognized what it was. One of the specially modified guest rooms, designated for visitors of questionable trustworthiness. Reinforce doors and special windows, as well as a high-tech security system and surveillance.

With a huff, she sat up from the couch she was placed on and took a better look around. As she searched the sizable room, she noted that walking in these heels was not difficult, just her luck of that night that she would trade combat muscle memory for a skill so frivolous. At least it kept her balanced.

As she waited, she suddenly noticed a clock, and gasped at the time. Had she really been asleep for that long?

Well at least that meant her father should be returning about now. And the rest got her a bit more energized even so she should be more able to explain herself. Even still, she wished she had more time to think of what to say.

Meanwhile the Batman himself returned to the Batcave. His alarm at not being able to find Damian was only heightened by mention of an intruder. Determined, he set off to interrogate this ‘Amelia Kelesy-Ives.’

It was these feelings of aggression which caused him to be targeted by the pheromones, now floating unrestricted through the ventilation system. These mutated pheromones, influenced by the transformable and fluid recent state of their original host’s body, set to work changing Batman into something less threatening to their creator.

Who did Bruce become?
