Hermione Granger in the Library

Not for the first time Hermione found herself sneaking into the restricted section of the Hogwarts grand library. Normally she would hesitate to break a rule like this one, but the war was heating up and she was **** for anything that would help her side out and keep her friends safe. Even worse Harry was increasingly convinced that Draco Malfoy was up to something and working for the Dark Lord. And Hermione was starting to believe him. Plus the ministry wasn't having any success in keeping the Dark Lord in check and Dumbledore was starting to rely more and more on Harry somehow managing to defeat Voldemort. It was so frustrating. Increasingly Hermione found herself wishing that all the world's blood purists would just disappear.

Then she saw it. Tucked away in a dark corner of the deepest part of the library, with a nondescript book cover and a simple title. The rule book it was names. So innocent looking Hermione couldn't help but pick it up and read through it. Most of the pages were blank, but the first one had a very interesting description.

The Hogwarts official rule book. It said. Whatever is written in this rule book becomes a rule for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All current and former students must follow these rules. These rules cannot cause **** or cause someone to change a deeply held belief. If a person is not physically capable of following a rule then they will be magically changed so that they can follow the rule.

Hermione thought about this book for sometime. This had possibilities. Her first thought was to outlaw the belief in blood purity since that would end the war. But she didn't think that would work. Blood puriy was a deeply held belief for most of Voldemort's supporters. And Voldemort himself just wanted power. If he couldn't fight for blood purity he would fight for something else. But the book said it couldn't change deeply held beliefs, could it add them?

Rule 1. Books are food. She wrote down on the first blank page. When she looked up at the library shelves her mouth began to water and her stomach grumbled. She scratched that rule out and her hunger disappeared. Yes this could work. Hermione had deeply held beliefs about not destroying books but who had deeply held beliefs about food? Or sex for that matter. Those were just basic parts of life after all.

And Hermione had spent a fair bit of time on her family's new computer this past summer and found some very interesting sights online. Message boards and image sharing sights that opened up a surprising new avenue of desires for herself. Yes she could work with this.
