What does she need from us?
Help for a work
1st of March
You enter the office and see lady Delia sitting at her desk. She is wearing her usual outfit: a pink short-sleeved jacket over a yellow shirt, paired with a purple skirt, and, like her daughter, she is a gorgeous woman.
"It's good to see you too, lady Delia," you and Midori say as she greets you.
"Oh, no need for the 'lady' part, dears. We've known each other for a long time, so if you act so distant you make me feel old..." she giggles as she invites you to sit. "They will bring us some tea soon. In the meantime I'll start to tell you about your mission."
You take a couple of chairs and sit down in front of her desk.
"So, dears, last night someone spotted something strange inside the forest: some creatures that seemed made of shadow, with the shape of some sort of frog, but they told us they were as big as a kid..." Delia explains to you, though she gets interrupted by someone opening the door.
"The tea is ready."
The lady who just opened the door is an energetic Venusaur woman, dressed in a long emerald-green dress, and she comes in with a trolley that has a teapot and some cups on it. This lady is Venus, Midori's mother and your caretaker for a few years of your life. She is quite the energetic and bubbly lady, just like her daughter, and against the usual beliefs about Venusaurs, she is a very active woman

"Oh, it's so good to see my darlings!" Venus says before she suddenly hugs you and Midori from behind, crushing you both in her powerful embrace.
"Y-yeah mom, we love you too, b-but we can't breathe like this," Midori says while you both suffocate a little against her huge bosom.
She then releases you to let you breathe and serves the tea.
While you enjoy the delicious tea, Delia continues her explanation.
"As I was saying, I sent some guards to check the area and they returned injured, some even badly. So I would like you two to go investigate deeper in the forest. I bet it won't be a problem for our 'weapon-master' and his trusted partner," Delia finishes, pointing out the nickname people of the area gave you.
You are called weapon-master because, since you were a kid, you had a strange talent. You can barely use mana, but you are a natural with every single weapon—no matter if it is long or short, heavy or light, or even if it is meant for melee combat or ranged fighting
"Very well, we will get ready and go investigate right away... though if only we had the luck of having a real partner-bond," you say jokingly, though mentioning that makes Midori pout.
In the last decades it was discovered that humans and pokemusu can make a sort of pact to empower each other, though you can only have one partner at a time. The problem with you two is that you technically made the pact but... it didn't work. You can't use any of Midori's magical abilities and Midori can't empower herself with your magic, though that hasn't stopped you so far.
"Good, dears, then I will leave the rest to you," Delia says.
"You know I trust you, my darlings, but remember that the main objective is to come back home alive and especially unscathed," Venus says before giving you another hug. You and Midori hug her back before finishing the tea and heading out.
You go back to your house and enter the old armory of your parents, where you can freely use the gear they left you.
Midori, as usual, puts on just a skin-tight top with a chain-mail vest over it to protect her chest and a pair of shorts. Some would say it's not much, but having lots of skin exposed helps pokemusus like Midori in battle.
You take a light leather armor and put it on, covering your legs, chest, and forearms. You also take a sword, a shield, two daggers to use in case of emergency, and a few throwable knives.
Lastly, you take a medallion with a pink gemstone set into it. You were never a big fan of it, but it was a lucky charm your mom gave you, so you usually bring it with you during missions.
After that, you pack a little food and water and head out for your mission.
You walk toward Viridian Forest, the biggest forest in Kanto. It covers a large portion of the north-west of the region, and a small part of it reaches the area of Pallet as well.
You enter the forest and begin searching around for a few hours, finding traces of combat and something strange: some sort of razor leaves, the same kind of sharp leaves that Midori can throw with her magic, though these ones are pitch black.
"I've never read about something like this. Do you have any idea about it, Midori?" you ask her.
"No. I've heard of magical techniques that let you copy the spells of others, but this seems something else entirely. It gives me the creeps," Midori replies.
You go deeper into the forest until you suddenly start to have a bad feeling.
"Midori, stop."
You make her stop walking.
"We are... surrounded," you say.
Suddenly a group of creatures appears and encircles you.

"Guess we found the creatures they told us about," Midori says.
"Yeah, and looking at them now, they seem like a Bulbasaur girl that got transformed into some sort of animal," you reply.
"Yeah... it makes me kind of sad that we have to kill them—woah!"
Midori barely finishes speaking before one of the creatures fires some dark razor leaves at her, but you get between them and deflect the attack with your shield.
"But I guess they want our heads, so time to fight back," Midori says as you both prepare to fight.
Two of the creatures jump at you, but you react quickly.
You slash the first one in two with your sword while Midori shoots down the other using her own razor leaves.
The two creatures begin dissolving into thin air after you kill them.
Then the others attack all together.
But you are ready.
Midori releases her vines to whip away a couple of them while you cut open a few more. Their attacks are quick, but they are not very strong, so most of them fall under your sword or get crushed by Midori's vines.
When the fight is almost over, one tries to jump on you from behind, but Midori hits it with her razor leaves before it can reach you. At the same time another one tries to whip her back while she protects you, but you hit it right in the forehead with a throwable knife, killing it for good.
After that, you exchange a high-five for the job well done.
"Good work. Now we should still look around for other possible ene—"
You are unable to finish the sentence.
Suddenly a cloud of purplish haze surrounds you.
The mist has a sweet scent, but it makes your lungs and throat burn and your sight becomes blurry.
"E-Erik!" Midori shouts.
She quickly focuses and makes some plants made of mana sprout from the ground, forming a barrier around you and allowing you to breathe at least a little.
"This is a poison-filled mist. Being a poison type I am immune to it, so I'll handle the rest," Midori says.
At that moment your enemy finally reveals itself.
It looks like the creatures from before, but this time it has the traits of a Venusaur.
A huge beast stands before you, releasing poisonous mist from its flower—the opposite of the sweet relaxing scent that Venusaurs usually emit.
Midori moves between you and the beast.
And prepares to fight.

What will happen?
