Forturnes Three
Each girl broke open her cookie. Chloe was the first to speak as she read it out loud. Tonight, all eyes will be on you. "Ooooh!"
Chloe and Mallory were planning on going to a local bar and grill to watch their alma mater's football game while having dinner and drinks.
Mallory was next: Your secret admirer will become known to you. "Nice!"
Then there was Becca who had to work the late afternoon and early evening shift at work. Your job will present you with many surprises. "Uh oh."
"What, surprises are good," said Chloe.
"Not necessarily."
"Come on, surprise parties, surprise promotions, surprise bonuses..."
"Disney corporation does not give out surprise promotions or bonuses, and why would I get a surprise party?"
"Just saying that surprises are almost always good."
"I guess we'll see."
"It's not like you believe in this," said Mallory. "I'm not exactly expecting to find out I have a secret admirer."
The girls finished Chloe's cookies, joked about giving Mallory's lemon squares to students who fail her tests before throwing them out, and wrapped up Becca's treats for later. They forgot about their "fortunes."
