The 13th generation Ford Thunderbird was manufactured from 2012 until 2018 in Detroit, it came in a RWD coupe and convertible, classed as a Luxery GT.

***History***

After the success of the 12th generation fords brought back the convertible along with changing the design too focus on a sleek European designed GT competitor it was a shorter Fusion/Mondeo and a less aggressive looking mustang.

This was also the first era of the EcoBoost into the engine lineup.

SE and SEL where both dropped replaced with more appealing model range.

The base entry level engine was a 2l EcoBoost 4 cylinder the least popular option Ford thought about dropping it in 2015 due too poor sales.

The mid range engine was a 3.5l twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost 6 cylinder, very reliable and a popular choice Gen 1 2012 - 2015 Gen 2 2016 - 2018.

The top engine was a 5l Coyote V8 popular with petrol heads this sold the most engines due too fears of this being the last V8 Thunderbird.

The transmissions on offer where a 6 speed auto with triptonic base and a 6 speed manual with a overdrive.
