Food, lures, and awkwardness

Rattle rattle rattle

“Alright, I’m coming!” I walk over to the door and turn the knob, but it’s stuck. “Are you pulling on the door?”

“Well duh, I’m tired of being here!” Tamaki replies, “Let us in!”

“The door doesn’t open that way,” I then turned the knob and yank the door open.

“Eeep! What are you!”

CRASH

Did the darkness they were talking about spread into my house as well? I should probably call out to them so they can light the way.

“Mmhm.” “Get your face out of there!” Tamaki yells. “He would if his head wasn’t stuck inside your bra, Tamaki. Besides, you fell on him,” Iris told her.

I feel myself being ripped away from her and pushed across the hall. “Could have been a bit more gentle, couldn’t you?” I laugh nervously at the present situation.

“Oh great the first guy we see is creepy and cute, pick one and stick with it,” Tamaki says, being her normal-wait.

“Not sure if I should complimented or not. Either way I have dinner to finish,” I tell them as I stand back up and walk to the kitchen.

“Don’t just walk away from us.” Tamaki says as she follows me with Iris walks ahead of her. “Where are we anyways? This doesn’t look like Japan. Does this look familiar to you Iris?”

“Unless you’ve crossed the Pacific before, I don’t think either of you have. You’re in Texas, a within an hour of Dallas. Whatever danger it looked like you were in, is a long way away, I tell them as I pull the now browned chicken out to shred by hand.

“Well we should be going, might as well find out what we can do to live out here,” Iris says, bowing slightly. I quirk my brow at them “That’s well and good but I have a hunch that might be a problem, do you have any form of identification on you?” I question them.

“Well…no but we are citizens of the Tokyo Empire!” Tamaki declares loudly. “Come on Iris let’s get going.”

“The Tokyo Empire doesn’t exist, Japan does but it’s not an empire,” I tell them. I take the shredded chicken and put in in a pot with corn, salt, spices, and chicken broth. When I look up I see two sets of eyes staring blankly at me.

“Something wrong with what I said?”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT DOESN’T EXIST!” Tamaki yells, as I thank my choice in not having a neighbor who lives less than a quarter mile from me.

“I mean it doesn’t exi-” “The Tokyo Empire is the crown jewel of the east, are you saying it was destroyed?” Iris interrupts tearfully.

I sigh and walk up to her “What are you?” I ignore her and pull her into a hug. “Look a lot of this doesn’t make sense to me either really, however wherever you’re from hasn’t existed before. That leaves you alone and nationless, so the both of you can stay here as long as you need to.” I tell them.

Iris pulls away a little, then pulls Tamaki into the hug as well. “We’ll gladly accept for as long as the offer stands.”

“H-hey don’t I have an opinion!?” Tamaki says, squirming and trying to get away from the embrace.

I pull away, “You can use my laptop to find some new clothes, they should come in by tomorrow morning if you pick something out quick enough. I’ll finish cooking here.”
